Three-straight 66s put Tiger Woods on top of the leaderboard at the 1999 National Car Rental Golf Classic/Disney. Woods held off Ernie Els on Sunday for a one-shot victory.
Tiger Woods' chase for Sam Snead's record of 82 PGA TOUR wins began at the 1996 Las Vegas Invitational, his first TOUR win in just his fifth professional start. Over 20 years later Woods' excellence has seen him raise a trophy in six countries and 16 different American states.

Tiger had all this raw talent and seemingly perfect game through '91 to '97 that helped him win 6 consecutive amateur championships and the '97 Masters. Then he has a "slump" in '98 that made people take pause and think he may have just been a 1-hit wonder. Then from '99 on, he showed the world that he was the best golfer ever.

1998 was when he was changing his swing And he peaked in the summer of 1999 I don’t know if Steve Williams was the reason or he got better bc he peaked right when Williams became his caddy but he said he hit this one shot and he said I figured it out and won 8 times that year
