Don't think that's gonna happen you can easily tell there uncleared animosities with one another. Bobby seems he is jealous to Steve and he tries so hard to rub his success on Steve's face. And Steve is just a free thinker who loves Bobby as a fam. You can easily tell Steve is the more talented one overall but Bobby is the better politician who didn't fuck up his life like what seemed to what happened to Steve. However, I think Bobby will try to keep him down as much as he can.

I know what triggered Steve to zone out and think about his dream when bobby was telling the story about the livestock documentary. Bobby mentioned the person in the documentary being from an Italian family, and this reminded Steve about the restaurant from his dream "Papa Howie's". You can see at that moment Steve glances towards Gilbert, cause the dream was about Gilbert, and then starts talking to himself and not looking at Bobby.
