TP is an American R&R icon. I'm so proud that he was a brother native of our great state of FL. He of Gainesville, and myself 45 miles north, Lake City. I'm old enough to have enjoyed his heyday of hits throughout my early teens through early twenties (1978-83). 'Damn The Torpedoes' on the 8-track was played, among others like 'The Cars', Bob Segar', 'AC/DC', 'Alabama', 'Hank Jr.', etc. until either the tape, or the car tape deck wore out while me and my group of girl hoods burned tanks of gas on Friday and Saturday nights 3 sheets to the wind. Tom Petty continued blessing us with his vocal, musical, and songwriting talents until his passing. He's a legend that fans will never forget. Thank you and great job, John. Keep up the good work, and keep your dream alive my friend!
