@000001willy3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately everything is off, his putting - all of these puts he is missing he would make in the past, he reads seem to be off but one of the big things that is hurting his putting is his distance control which was always a killer component of his game and his failure to hit the ball straight off the tee with his driver and with his irons from the fairways. In the past it was like he was firing with laser, pinpoint accuracy and distance control. He's missing that. His swing looks rushed to me not like his powerful, total in control swing. He's looking for answers and he can't figure it out. It's like his whole game has the yips right now. I like to watch Paris Griffiths on the Golfholics golf channel and if you watch her swing, she is consistently hitting it with a liquid, gold high tempo swing that she seems to be able to repeat almost every time. She only struggles with her putting. Right now, I think she could give Tiger a run for his money.
@NinjaPrimeProductions3 жыл бұрын
Totally agree with you there, that aspect of his game has always been his go to shot, he is missing more than he is missing, however his approach shot is a lot better than a few years ago, and his back appears to be holding up..

Tiger needs more reps, he cant expect to compete with the top players in majors with only 4 tourneys played this season. I know he's 44 but he should still be playing a couple more than what he has been doing.

😳! 25yo Tiger would seriously, without a doubt, wipe his ass with everyone in today’s field...as he did back then. Period. He’s 45 years old, just saying? Even when Jack won masters in mid 80’s, he was looking pretty mediocre on avg... time for the testosterone replacement therapy haha....
@paulbaransky40863 жыл бұрын
@@philwell76 tigers prime included many stray drives but he could overcome them and win. Nowadays players are longer and straighter. No chance he could dominate people who are longer, straighter and in excellent physical condition.

Tiger just can't compete in this era. Players don't fear him and they out drive him. He won in an era when only he and Daly were long. Now he is just mediocre.
@cscoetzee3 жыл бұрын
Strange that he is amongst leaders in avg driving distance in this championship, then.
@cscoetzee3 жыл бұрын
@Nick I agree. Back in the day I felt like he just dominated on all fronts, basically, especially putting and driving, although also lauded for the quality of his iron shots. I think it was a combination of all that, and his consistent remarkable results and confidence, that allowed him to dominate, and the fact that he was a 'superstar' in everyone's minds. I don't agree with this guy that he is now 'just mediocre'. He is no longer totally dominating, but you just feel that you can't discount him catching fire at any moment and pulling ahead again, like he did in the 2019 Masters, as you mentioned. You can't say that of a 'just mediocre' player.
@paulbaransky40863 жыл бұрын
@@cscoetzee I never said tiger was short. Back in his day, tiger and Daly would smoke it past everybody. That intimidation factor is now gone. He still hits it far.
@cscoetzee3 жыл бұрын
@@paulbaransky4086 What you did say was "Players out drive him". A gross exaggeration and generalization at the very least, if not an outright lie. He is still among the longer drivers on the tour, though there are more these days, admittedly.
@paulbaransky40863 жыл бұрын
@@cscoetzee tell me this. Tiger is healthy, has all the shots, still hits it a long way. Yet he is miles behind in this tournament. In his winning days he would be fighting the leaders to win no matter how bad he played. Players are better now than his competition was then. That should be clear.
@reimannx333 жыл бұрын
Cannot show up with 4 rounds in 5 months, that too with an altered putter, and expect to be in contention in a major - does not matter if he is tiger. Nowadays , he plays less than those at the tail end of their champions tour career. He might have resigned himself to accepting that jack's record is unattainable .
@therealtw903 жыл бұрын
i find this weird too, not sure what the plan is there. Maybe just trying to save the body for peak tournaments and playing any non-majors isn't as worth it to him, not sure. Its definitely strange and I wish he'd play more Tour rounds in prep for the majors this coming in cold thing isn't working
@kennanlynn49773 жыл бұрын
Yeah hes old and trying to just preserve for the big ones... when u tha goat u do as u please
@therealtw903 жыл бұрын
@Lewis all of this I agree with. This week though, and I think this will be the theme going forward too, is that if his putter goes cold theres no chance. I think its a less talked about thing but hes going thru something with his putting and once its fixed maybe it changes the way things go
