Tight Fitting ILCA Spars

I never knew the wrinkle in the middle of the main was caused by loose fitting top and bottom mast, thanks Clay! ILCA and Laser spars fit differently I've noticed and can be an issue.

What if you coat it on the outside? Is it allowed? I think it's safer

Just received an ILCA-7 mast base and I’m using it with a well-sailed carbon top….on my initial fit-check, it was so tight I had to use a couple of “craftsmen” strap-wrenches to separate the top and bottom. I’m wondering if the top was warmed up by the sun and expanded a little more than usual. We’ll try again in the early morning.

@christopherclark6079 we've noticed more and more carbon tops fitting tighter in the lower sections. In an ideal world, you have a super tight fit. I know I purposely look for spars that are tight to get together. That said, you want to be able to put them together and get them apart each day. I'd try again under cooler temps and hopefully that works.
