Found out about this years ago from article in Emerge magazine. White women were so jealous of Black beauty so the initiated this law.

With the Crown Act not being federal law, technically us BW (especially little Blk girls) are still subject to Tignon Laws from school to the workplace. The regulation of our hair has evolved to what we have today.

I love my natural hair, and when I don’t have it together to go out I love wearing my African wax fabric head wraps then I get compliments from women of all races!

This is Louisiana's history ONLY, not the whole country. The laws were made for Louisiana ONLY
