I love this song so much! Sometimes I just sit around and cry. I don't cry about my ancestors being slaves, because they were hardworking and honorable. I cry, because they were not allowed to keep their language and culture for fear of running away.

Although I don't understand the lyrics, I have enjoyed the instruments and the cultural setting as depicted by the props used. It's brilliant.

This is Eritrean traditional wedding song. Whoever played it, it is Eritrean public wedding song. And combination of the musical instruments is Eritrean. Tigray, unless copied do not make such composure.

@lovebabysally lol. who said I do not like the song? I was only reiterating the song comes from Tigray-Ethiopia as some are claiming the singer is Ertirean, which is a bizarre lie. Every one needs to enjoy the music , appreciate the art and give credit to the real owner. Identity theft should not be tolerated.

He's known as the master of tigrigna guayla wedding music (very talented guy). Born in Asmara to Ethiopian Tigrau parents prior to the Ethiopian and Eritrean war (when eritreans lived in ethiopia and ethiopians lived in eritrea) and moved back to Ethiopia after that. Sadly he passed away. You should definitely listen to his other songs on youtube. Just type Anbessa Tekle.

+alem skatkati "Posted by Abdelaziz on 21 Nov 2013, 03:55 Another great Tigrayan artist, Ambesa Tekle, suddenly died in Addis. Ambesa was fit and very healthy until last week but he died suddenly at his most productive and very youthful age. Ambesa was barely 42 years old. He is survived by his 4 sons and his wife. Ambesa was born and raised in Asmera. He went to Tigray in February 1998 to celebrate the anniversary of TPLF but he could not return back to Asmera as the border war was suddenly ignited shortly thereafter. During his relatively short stay in Tigray, Ambesa became one of the most liked Tigrigna guaylists in the entire Horn of Africa and he was booked 2-3 years ahead before he played in the countless weddings that were held throughout Ethiopia and in may other parts of the world at large. RIP! Dear Ambesa wedi Tekle, you'll be remembered forever, and your legacy will be continued by other gifted Tigrayan Artists"
