Perfect! I have been looking for this information for a week at least. I wanted to record MIDI exactly the same way as you have done. Seems this is the best way, record ALL MIDI channels -> dissolve to own tracks + edit. I saw you had another video, record straight into own tracks, but it seems more complicated. Hi Tiho, thanks for this video. I own a SX 900 and your video's helped me out. What I want to know is how to render the recorded midi tracks from the keyboard in to audio tracks, because the normal render in place mode is not working because the SX is not a VST instrument.

Do not remove super articulation if you are playing recording on the same instrument, but if you want to use a different sound than you have to remove super articulation.

I tried the same with Genos 2, and all is right except the patches choice are not recorded, counter to your video (i have the correct G2 cubase patch list installed). After recording, patch name on each track is empty, and i have not the correct instrument when playing back..

Hi. I make personal styles in Cubase using scripts in Device Manager. I can also use the scripts from my samples but I noticed that in Cubase the scripts from the purchased packages do not appear in Cubase. And I would really need to be able to select them from Cubase as well so that I can work on the styles and sounds from the packages I bought. Even if LSB and MSB correspond as values, they are not seen by either Cubase or Style Magic. I mention that I use YEM-CE to scan all scripts and when exporting to the TXT file the packages purchased with the license do not appear scanned. Has anyone been interested in this before?

Scripts are not loaded automatically. You have to make scripts for any user or extra purchased sounds.

MIDI recording is NO sound recording. Only MIDI messages are recorded. After MIDI recording you have to record each MIDI track in wave format and then you can export.

Do you know if there are Genos templates for Abelton Live or Logic Pro to get the sound library and config settings into those daws? or do you have to use Cubase?

I made template for Cubase but now there is included template for cubase in Cubase Pro. I think that there is no template for Logic Pro and Abelton Live but you can make template.

Because your Drum ch 10 MIDI Input transformer has wrong setting. It should be on Local MIDI ch 10. See my latest video about it.

Ho notato una cosa però sulla mia Genos e cubase 12: quando su una traccia seleziono un program di piano compare il giusto nome sul display di Genos, ma quando seleziono un altra patch di piano più morbido, a display avviene il cambiamento di nome ma a livello di suono non trovo differenza fra le patch. Ho provato di tutto e senza risultati. Potresti aiutarmi?

Another problem has surfaced regarding the Cubase 12 sliders and Genos Sliders. I have no idea as to how to seamlessly sync them up. If I start a new midi track with USB1 and Local off on the Genos and record a soft trumpet configured in Cubase 12, there is one issue with the faders.. If the Trumpet is assigned to Right1, Cubase 12 moves all of the Genos sliders as a group....this is not I want. With an older project, the slider for the trumpet has to be clicked for the original recorded volume is to be heard. The volume comes in low, does not move the Genos sliders but the volume corrects itself...not what I want... Any replies or solutions are greatly appreciated. My Genos-Cubase integrated study is on hold for revision 4 until I resolve this slider issue. Alan Russell

Tiho, I have a question please. Is it possible to use a 3-parts voices in a single cubase track? ... 3-parts voices occupy 3 channels for each voice from the 1-8 channels. So obviously I run out of channels. I am making a song that uses 12 voices (3-parts x 4 registrations). I hope I clarified my question. Please let me know if it's not clear.

No. Every sound should be on a separate MIDI track. But you can use up to 16 MIDI track on Cubase and on Genos for live recording. 12 voices plus 4 pad

I would like to know if it is normal, but all the time if I switch on cubase on pc before to switch on Genos, I find all struments' sounds of my song different of those that I've saved and trasfered from Genos. If I switch on Genos before switch on pc-cubase, everything is all right. Is it normal o may be it's some mistake in set up mode????!!! Thank You very much in advance.

Yes Cubase do that because you have to insert CC messages in every track. The best way is when you have project export it as a MISI 1 file than again import in the same project and delete previous midi tracks replace them with new tracks. That is solution.

let me ask you this....you can not create a clean audio track (vocal lead on it only) having midi tracks unmuted on the screen..is that correct? If so, the only way is to convert all of the midi tracks to audio and then the lead vocal (clean) can be recorded and achieved? correct or not....btw love your videos

I paired my Cubase pro 11 to my Genos. Ever since I updated my Genos's firmware to v2.11 I'm having trouble recording my Genos in Cubase. Also controlling with the Chordtrack does not work as usual. Does anyone have experience with this as well? And if so..., also a solution? My thanks are great. With musical regards, Gert

I followed your videos and am able to record tracks from 9 through 16 on a single track but could not record in separate tracks. Is there any videos related to filtering tracks. Because you did not do filtering or you have Cubase LE and on Cubase LE you can not do filtering only on Cubase Pro it works..

I have a question, may be and I m sure you have a solution for me, I followed all your instructions to connect my Genos to cubase for style recording and I have no probleme when I reccord 1 track with ''any channel'' selected like you showed on your video but when I try to do multi recording(I wanna mean with all tracks separeted in same time) it doesn't works... It seams that all tracks are reccording all channels in same time...I checked if all track are configured with single channel and yes they are, do uou ave a idea where my probleme come from ? @@michelmassart709 Than you have to record everything on One MIDI ch. and select on that MIDI ch Any. After recording highlight that track and go under MIDI and Dissolve that track. When you dissolve chose option different tracks than you will get separate recording of all tracks.

Dear Tiho Like so many others, I have benefited greatly from your explanation. I'm also trying to do the same for the Pa4X now. I uses the xlm list Paulaner Cubase. But this is not complementary to the Korg Arranger universal. I would like to convert the file to a txt file for modification and to translate to English names but that does not work. I have read that you made a modified version Pa3x to Pa4x. Maybe that would save me a lot of work from reinventing the wheel. If you can give me that, I would be very happy with that, you understand that. Of course I would like to compensate you for that. I do not know where. I did not see sx900 template in Cubase. You have to do research on internet or make your own template. Maybe Yamaha web site.

Genos is the best studio arranger in combination with cubase. The best studio sound, the best usability.

@@Tiho2012 I think recording an entire MIDI live performance is a real game changer. You no longer need to record track by track when using an ordinary MIDI keyboard. Now with an arranger, you can just record the whole thing in one shot then later you can add, remove, edit, ... etc. each track. You can even modify a track to include a VST instrument instead of a specific Genos voice or add more drums breaks to hide the robotic nature of the style. I don't even have to bother using the annoying Genos MIDI multirecording to make a MIDI song. In other words, sky is the limit with this kind of flexibility. Really nice job !!👏👏

I would like to know why Cubase makes thiings go tinkly Tonk and have to get rid over riding things an octave up. I had all things set up and imported a song from Genos but the choir pad that followed the chorus was drums going tinkly tonk. I put my song in Mike Bedeseems Mixmaster and all ok and also tried in Midisoft 's program for Yamaha Genos.You must admit there is a lot of hit and miss things with integration which you have to workaround.--- All the best John Ps-- There must be some settings somewhere in Cubase for pads and registration memory which i have yet to find as a newcomer to Cubase.

Because Cubase is recording articulation. Open MIDI track and scroll up you will see articulation notes. Erase them and problem is gone. That problem is present especially if you change pitch of the track or instrument. Just erase those note.

Haha! Man! I guess, articulation problem comes from Yamaha Montage/MODX. I have the same problem with my Yamaha MODX :)
