"Strong black women" isn't a deragotory term. Women are just sick of hearing it because, like you all mentioned last time, it reminds women of the trauma they had to endure alone. You can say a woman is strong. We are! But just acknowledge most of the time when a person is "strong" or even "wise for their age" etc it's usually cuz they had to be.

I feel like people have a very distorted view on what submission is or what it's supposed to be. Literally, when you're submitting it means 'to be under a mission'. Submission isn't just someone automatically listening to you, following you, or doing what you say "just because". What I'm finding most common with guys like the one LouLou was describing is that they seem to believe that if a woman is not being 'soft' or not doing exactly what he wants, then she's written off as domineering and doesn't want to submit. Submission isn't something that you can just command, it's something that your partner actually wants to do. And it's also not just having your partner do everything you want or mindlessly agreeing to everything. My husband doesn't demand that I cook for him or other 'wifely' things, I do them because he actually makes me want to do those things. Overall, the idea of 'submission' is not a bad thing. But people are always using that term out of context. It's not one submitting to the other, you both submit to each other. Side note, I really think he was just telling her those things because he was losing arguments and it was probably a defense mechanism to save face lol.

There’s no such thing as “all the way” feminist, because feminism is not anti-men. Masculinity is very attractive. Chivalry and mutual respect should be celebrated. Feminism is a response to patriarchy and inequality between genders, legally and socially (workplace especially). Think of patriarchy as a system of oppression of women.

@@ahub87 Yes, I very much acknowledge that. This just didn’t seem like the platform or video topic to make the distinction. I simply wanted to highlight that being an independent woman, or a woman who advocates for gender equality does not make one anti-men. I appreciate you commenting this because I hope other people (especially men) will understand that black women are consistently maligned in issues surrounding racism, gender equality, wealth, income and access 🙏🏾
