Sakela Ubhauli is a traditional festival celebrated by the Kirat people of Nepal. Ubhauli falls on the full moon day of the month of Baisakh (April/May) in the Nepali calendar and marks the beginning of the farming season.
During the festival, the Kirat people worship Mother Nature. They perform various rituals, the singing and dancing of traditional songs and dances making a circle. Every year in festival time big gather in Tudikhel, Kathmandu, Nepal.
The festival is also a time for the Kirat people to gather and celebrate their cultural heritage. It is a time for feasting and drinking. Ubhauli is an important cultural event that has been passed down from generation to generation among the Kirat people, and it continues to be celebrated with great enthusiasm to this day.
