I am very impressed with your videos, the way you respect items left behind, as they are someone's memories. With all due respect to other explorers, your narration is perfect, and you don't add any music or sound effects like other Urban Explorer videos. Having no sound added, or edited, brings the viewer right there with you. The wind blowing through the windows, doors, and gaping holes, sounds so peaceful and surreal. Every time I think I've watched all of your videos, another one I haven't seen pops up, and I get excited. Keep up the good work, and thank you for sharing your adventures!

A lot of people see only junk there. I see... Solid wood doors with frames. Old well made door knobs. Hard wood floors. Brass plumbing. Old window frames. Probably counter weighted. Did not see the roof. But could it be slate tiles? Very valuable stuff in that old house!
@johndoe318910 жыл бұрын
i live in the washington DC area where there is a lot of wealthy people, and there is a huge market for reclaimed doorknobs and lock sets from old houses. theres no charm in modern homes anymore, so people with disposable income are paying top dollar for that old stuff

I have watched videos by others and I must say some of the camera work I have seen is almost rough enough to make you feel ill. I really like the slow deliberate camera movements you do so the observer never feels "jostled" or "ill". Your calm reasonable narrative is also an asset to your videos. It's almost, for me, like going on a stroll through a portion of someone's life. Thanks for your work.

I find abandoned places fascinating. Particularly large institutions. Once busy, bustling places now empty and silent, slowly decaying. I like the patterns of decay, peeling paintwork, mould, emptiness and desolation, and all the detritus and artefacts that are left behind. I like your videos. Do you ever experience anything paranormal when you explore these sort of places?

I liked this house, the woodwork on the stairs was beautiful! Also, I don't know about your area, but in Northeast ohio, it's hard to find a store that carries wallpaper, so looking at wallpaper from way back is now neat to me, and the tiles and flooring, you just don't see floral floors any more! The biggest question I continued to ask on this tour, was how close or how far from the actual lake does it sit? Loved the unusual arched window in the "Mario 3" bedroom. It sits on a road the follows closely to the lake but I can't remember if you can actually see the lake from this house or not as it's been awhile that I filmed this. If so, it wouldn't be walking distance as you'd have to cross farmer's fields. Thanks again for your awesome comments, Austin! :)

That house must have been really pretty in its prime, Pam, and the staircase was particularly nice. Boy, the owners sure loved their busy wallpaper! I'll bet salvagers and restorers would love to get their mitts on the fridge and woodstove, even the wringer washing machine. And I think that's one of the first of your videos that there wasn't the constant roar of traffic in the background; in fact, I think I heard a few birds. Did you enjoy getting to film on a day without snow, slush, or rain?! :)

Tiki, when you were in school did they ever give you a magazine called, The Weekly Reader ? The reason why I ask is because when I was a young child our teacher showed us pictures of a polluted Lake Erie, dead fish floating and all, the caption read something to the effect that Lake Erie is a dead lake. Yeah, never to be able to support life again. Well, is it true ? Is it just a polluted dead lake ? Thank you.
