I've been exploring for about 30 years, and for the past few years on video. I never realized it was a recognized hobby before I started sharing my adventures. I explore more regularly now than I have in the past. It is a little unnerving due to the risks involved, but it is also very addicting and rewarding. I've been interested in this all of my adult life, so I guess you could say I enjoy it very much.

Tiki I'm not sure if I commented before that I would have liked to do what your doing. I'm not sure I've seen anyone videoing before I started watching U Tube in July when I received my tablet for my birthday, now I'm addicted to watching all the abanded house videos. I am 71 years young. Somehow I feel guilty for watching these videos.🤭 I am am not married so I guess it's ok.🤭 I just want to make a comment tho. Would you mind slowing down while taking your videos ( no offense ). I'd appreciate it. Excuse me for any punctuation errors. It's been a long time since I've been in school.🤭 God Bless and God Be With You🙏

cool house, Tiki. I grinned at the couch, that was sitting there, when you went in the back door, my folks had a couch and loveseat set with the same material. it's a shame she's letting the place go to waste, instead of letting somebody buy it, and keep another piece of history alive

Wow... Loved all the old stuff in the large upstairs bedroom. That headboard on the bed was beautiful. So much in that room was like stepping into a time capsule. Sorry you had to suffer the smells while we enjoyed the pictures. You are sharing parts of people's lives...so many mysteries. This is a historical service for mankind. Thank you again. - - Tom

Viewers who watched Tiki's house tour, didn't read all she wrote @ the top of the page where it says "about."If u read the whole dialog of the history of the house, u will c the part where Tiki tells her viewers that, "an elderly lady used 2 live there but, moved out. Tiki tells us that she bumped into her neighbour who gave her this info. Tikis neighbour said that he keeps asking the old lady 2 sell & she won't. So just letting u know that no elderly people died in there, just simply moved out.

Kittydoc90 Hey, thanks, Cristina! He's enjoying the spring, plus, I got a second little pup to add to my furry family. He's another purebred dachshund only a few months old, and is he ever an active one. So we've all been enjoying the nicer weather back home now. I hope you are enjoying the spring as well with your own furry family. :) Thanks as always for your nice comments!

Oh, congratulations on your new boy! I bet he'll keep your first one younger, or at least on his toes...I actually do love the winter, and cold days when one feels really alive to be outdoors and grateful and cozy to be warm indoors, but the spring is wonderful because of the fresh new green and flowers and birdsong. Ah, life is good! Is your youngster a Mini too? I can just picture him bouncing around, and how soft and silky his ears must be...
@TikiTrex
@TikiTrex 9 жыл бұрын
Kittydoc90 Thank you! You are picturing him correctly, lol. He is bouncing around quite well! He is a lively playful little guy. Unfortunately, my senior dog isn't so much these days. When the puppy tries to play, it irritates my senior dog, but he's warming up to him. They both love walks which is working out well since I also enjoy the spring weather and going for walks. And his ears and fur are so silky smooth. Oh, yes, he is also a mini. The breeder I purchased him from had him on a raw diet (lamb meat ground up with bones, etc.) along with a high protein kibble (no GMOs or hormones), and suggested I keep up with this regimen saying that the grains in IAMS, et al, are not good for them, I asked my local veterinarian yesterday about this diet as I wasn't sure if it was just the new hype, and he suggested I stick with the IAMS I have currently been feeding my senior dog for the past 12 years. There are so many differing opinions out there and it has me somewhat confused. I was just wondering if you'd be so kind to offer me your expert opinion on this issue?
@Kittydoc90
@Kittydoc90 9 жыл бұрын
Shoot-KZbin cut you off at "confused." I'm attempting 21st century technology and just set up a Facebook page as Kittydoc-if you'd like to message me we can talk more privately. I love to talk animals and I love the topic of pet nutrition. I think your vet and I will be on the same wavelength.
@TikiTrex
@TikiTrex 9 жыл бұрын
Kittydoc90 I guess that's because KZbin is confused, lol. I'm actually not on Facebook and would need an account to message you, but if you are on the same wavelength as my vet, then that makes me feel better about sticking with what I've been doing and not switching to the raw diet and high protein/non-grain kibbles. Thanks so much, Cristina!

Thanks! Actually, their show had contacted the owners at the Nevada Ghost Town that I took video of. The owners turned them away and said they weren't interested in selling anything. They then asked if they could video them saying no for the drama of it, but they just told them to get lost. So you are right - no sense of pride.

Another awesome video, Tiki! I always like it when there's stuff left in the places when ya'll go in them, but that was ridiculous. To me it seems like the people may have been hoarders, like you said. Looked like there may have been a few collectibles left behind. To bad the lady that owns it won't sell to the neighbor. Just letting it sit and go into more disrepair. Great job and thanks for sharing!! Be Safe!!:)

I always anticipate your next video! I have some questions though. I have several great old abandoned farmhouses around where I live in NY. I have some anxiety around exploring them because they are so close to rather highly traveled roads. How would you handle being discovered exploring a place where you should not be?

I live in Indiana & have Power of Attorney & Medical Power of Attorney for 2 relatives & am guardian for one of them who's disabled. I hope that in TN people can have a POA and/or guardian & I would recommend having a co-guardian & successor trustee if a guardian dies/is incapacitated. Hopefully what you describe can be avoided by making decisions & appointing people in advance for what is appropriate to their situation. I have a representative to handle my estate & will be paid out my estate.

I used to inspect houses for banks. Many of them were foreclosed and many looked like this one. I found it so interesting to look through all the belongings and imagine what the people and their lives were like. It was very strange, but very interesting, and I never knew I had this interest that you seem to have as well. I would guess most people left their belongins for financial reasons.

Often in REALLY old homes where the bathroom was retrofitted you would find it placed in the oddest places! My grandmother's home had the old "outhouse" and needed to have indoor toilet put in so her son had to use a section of the huge kitchen. But he didn't put up walls really, just drapes like shower curtains for walls that didn't go all the way to the floor. As a little kid that really embarrassed me for some reason!

Looks like it was ransacked after it was vacant by people looking for valuables. Maybe a squatter had stayed there at some point. That spot on the bed looked more like from an animal. Like the old folks had a dog that slept there.

I agree not so much a hoarder, Looks to me like everything was boxed up or at the very least contained in the dressers cupboards and closets. Its obvious the place was ransaced at least once, and robbed of anything of value. For example if you have all those vinyl records you would surely have a quality phonograph ! If i came home to this disaster id walk away too! :(

heck, Nate, here in TN, you can find a lot of houses sitting empty, and going to ruin, because the estate is held, until the owner passes, ( if they were in a nursing home). not even the family can do anything with it, until they pass, and the estate is settled. it's sad really, to see so many houses that way.

I never understand why people won't sell a property they no longer need and it continues to decay. I once stopped at an abandoned house that had a for rent sign the year before. squatting is taking possession, making it a home; trespassing is crashing on the property indefinitely, without any long term plans. This looks more like an old rental, rather than a "squatters" place. Squatters have to make improvements I think...
