It’s not exactly what I would have designed with a blank check but it’s dang close. Looks like a fantastic rifle for target market. Less convinced of the game just because I dislike holding metal rifles in the cold

Glad to see the updates, but it would have been nice if they designed the T3x for AICS magazines. It would also be nice if they redesigned the bolt stop so the pin doesn’t need to rest on top of the stock inlet to work (an issue with some GRS stocks). CTR magazines are the weak link in the Tikka CTR and tactical line. Same goes for Sako TRG with their $170-180 magazines vs AICS for the US market. I currently run my Tikka in a KRG Whiskey 3 chassis using their AICS magazines without any issues. KRG’s two stage trigger literally turns the rifle into a near clone of the older TRG model minus the action and barrel

From the T3X Ace Target product page: "the rifle features an interchangeable magwell, allowing compatibility with different magazine types for added versatility." so presumably it can be made AICS compatible.

But by the time you buy a barrel action, a krg chasing and a krg trigger you might as well just get the real thing....a better real thing...and get an actual Sako trg. They sell them in 6.5 creedmoor and 260 along with 308. Take your pick. Makes way more sense to me. Price is around 3k.

@5:02 why is the front screw in the picatinny rail sticking up? I saw this on an old school T3 too and thought it looked like a stripped out rail screw that wouldn't thread in or something. I guess that's not the case. Almost looks like something is supposed to hook over it.

The rail has 2 pins that act as recoil/alignment lugs that secure it to the chassis. That front screw helps lift the rail off the action if you want to remove it

Step in the right direction over the original T1X but I would like to see a 24 inch 1 inch diameter stainless barrel with a match chamber. give us the option of having a very light trigger, without having to go to an aftermarket source

Out the door for the 26” is nearly USD 2100 after tax for a non-folding chassis…. I would pay like $1400 for this. Went with a HOWA 1500 heavy barrel with a oryx and arca rail for $1100.

Why would you want a potential point of wobble on a competition rifle? If you plan to get deployed get the tactical tikka a1 it has a folding stock.

It is a competition rifle. The same exact Tikka action as the rest, just a different stock that is perfect for e.g. PRS. So why are you saying there's no point?
