9:55 is a good showcase of why modern CGI seems to look worse than early 10s CGI.. if you film with super high resolution and detail your CGI must match it perfectly otherwise it clearly wasn't captured with a camera. In that clip the quality is distorted in such a way that even mid compositing looks pretty damn good because of the lack of detail in lighting and decals (not saying that it was made mid). Same could be seen in some found footage horror movies from the 10s.
