@@jackssillygirl (Sorry for my rambles on how much I love musicals in advance). It's not supposed to necessarily be realistic, it's a medium for story telling. Not everyone in real life would write an entire book about an experience but books, fictional and non-fictional are written to tell stories. And then combined with music theory and the idea that all these different kinds of instruments and chord progressions and notes can all come together into a cohesive piece to evoke emotion from an audience. Whether it's a heart-wrenching "I want" song from a main character or a song from our supposed villian to understand them, we get to read into each character and their emotions with nothing but music. It's beautiful. Combined with props, lighting changes, costumes, and intricate dances from our ensemble, and beautiful performances from amazing actors and actresses who spend years perfecting their technique so they can perform eight times a week. I just love it so much and appreciate how much hard work and talent is pressed into it.

Singing is expression of the feelings. I sing all day everyday. Because I love it. Because it's my life. I sing on the streets, not fully belting but humming and such. I wouldn't sing in public loudly just out of nowhere. But if the situation is right, if I'm in a park or a field or a forest, someplace where it wouldn't bother others and won't distract them I will fucking sing as loud as I want.
