Actually in Georgian language we count by 20-s too, right from the start: 20+10, 2*20, 2*20+10, 3*20 and so on. Therefore 96 would be 4*20+10+6 (otkh+m+oc+d(at)+eqvs_meti) which translates to "for times twenty and ten six more" :-) 1000 is literally ten-hundreds: at+asi. 2996 would be "2ori * 10at *100as + 9cxra*100as+4otkh+m+20oc+da+(10+6)teqvs+(>)meti ":-)

0:30 Automatic pronunciation has yet to master the "liaisons"; the h in heures is mute (muet, pas aspiré), so it should be pronounced as "vinteure". And it's "vingt heures" with a s. 1:47 The translator does what it can, but the French sentence is grammatically completely wrong on top of being nonsensical. Should be something like "Attends, ta tante prend tant de ton temps, t'as autant de taons dans ta tente?". Still silly, of course, but correct.

3:29 😩😭 oh my god i hate this so much hsksksks. y’all do not understand the pain of wasting valuable writing time to look up a french word in the dictionary only for it to be the exact same as an english word except you like. throw an extra ‘e’ on the end or some shit xD the lesson i learned was that 90% of the time when i can’t remember the french word for something, that’s because it’s the same damn word hsjsjs one thing tho: depending on where you are, ‘the weekend’ is either ‘le weekend’ or ‘la fin (de?) semaine’. i learned both so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but i’ve seen people say that le weekend is used more in france, whereas la fin (de) semaine is used in quebec - tho i will say that i’m canadian and i don’t remember ever hearing people include the ‘de’; it’s just la fin semaine. (though that could be slang? or i could be remembering wrong, it’s been a while xD) apparently in france la fin de semaine might refer to the end of the week, as in thursday or friday (and idk if i’m just weird, but that’s probably how i’d read it with the ‘de’, cuz that’s what the literal translation is)
@Milo-ld7td
@Milo-ld7td 3 жыл бұрын
You're right. In Belgium, we don't say la fin de semaine for the weekend (we just say weekend) but for Thursday and/or Friday. I think that la fin semaine is slang cause I never heard it (it sounds weird to me) but sometimes we say it fast so it sounds like la fin d'semaine

French “eau” comes from Latin “aqua” after a long process of lenition. Aqua->Agua>ague->aue->oe That’s pretty much it pronunciation wise; I’m guessing at some point they changed the spelling to “eau” when it was written as “oe”.
