I watched it like 10 times. It was so sweet, you can tell she really needed to hear that and that it probably changed her outlook on her life, knowing her daughter loves her like that. Something similar happened to me when my son that is almost 16 told me that when he was in kindergarten, and it completely changed my life. And my 5 year old daughter is temperamental so speaking from experience, it's really nice to hear that you're doing a good job when you feel like you could be doing more or something. I never don't try, I'm always trying to be a good mother, but it's really nice to have that love coming from the kids that just kind of surprise you with their appreciation for you. To be clear and fair, I was going through a really hard time with mental health when he was 5 so it was just what I needed

More common is that facial hair remarks, (good/bad from males or females) do not lead to shaving. The worst case scenario, guys that grow patchy or thin facial hair they might get teased by their buddies, odds are even they don’t care and leave it. Sometime as a kid I recall hearing a baseball superstition, it was bad luck to not have some sort of facial hair. Later it began to strike me as odd for men to not have facial hair. Like a male version of leg shaving. Similar to your father that seemed spurred by the potential to look younger. Worse, to think a man is insecure about facial hair is really bizarre. Whatever the motivation, (could be vanity or advertising) my observation included dudes that constantly style their hair, color it and or care about it falling out. Let chicks care about that stuff, wear makeup if they need or wish to, color hair, nails etc. Less maintenance the better for me, which includes rarely shaving.
