Hey guys, thought I would simply drop in and leave this list here for you all. I have seperated the sections into the number of 6.5cm tiles in the piece; One: corners x6 2-Wall Hall x4 1-Wall Hall x10 Open x3 Two: 2-Wall Hall x5 1-Wall Hall x2 Three: 2-Wall Hall x6 1-Wall Hall x2 Corners x7 Four: 2-Wall Hall x2 1-Wall Hall x1 Corners x2 T-Junction x2 Room x6 Five: 2-Wall Hall x1 Cross Section x1 Six: Room x4 Nine: Room x2 Twelve: Room x1 Sixteen: Room x1 Twenty: Room x1 Also note I use the term hall to signify that the tiles are all in a single row, even though the 1-wall hall isn't technically a hall it was easier to call it as such to keep the list simple and compact. I hope this helps you guys out :)

Found your "Why craft" video by accident one day and got hooked. I have now started a set for my husband to use ( he's the DM but I am the crafty one). I am glad to see that your edges and walls aren't always perfectly straight. Makes me feel better about mine. I am using foam poster board since I can get it for a dollar a piece at the dollar store. Am going to test a piece (a scrap) with spray paint tomorrow to see how it holds up. Can't wait to be ready for doors and wall segments and.....well everything else.

I use the rooms as buildings in towns. It works really well. At the moment I don't use anything for pathways, but I have been mulling over the idea. The next phase after the straight dungeon is natural caverns, desert tombs, wilderness terrain and sewers... I have not got that far yet myself as I only started about a month ago :)

At some point I will begin to discuss dungeon themes and quest area themes and how to adjust the basic tiles to suit. All in time.

TheDMGinfo First a huge Thank you, to yourself and DM Scotty for all the wonderful videos. I have altered them somewhat in we have magnetized the walls and not glued them to the floor pieces, this allows for greater use and versatility. My group loves the visual aids. So again thank you both for the videos, they opened up our gaming experience.

There are more than these, these are the basic ones. I have several set pieces with bridges, chasms, ruins, sewer drains (you can see in the footage in DMG#000). I want to do quite a lot more, but the basic ones can get you through most games comfortably (just add stairs DMG#008 & DMG#009 and doors DMG#007)

I started making a set out of wood when I realized something: the pieces can fit together in a greater variety of ways if you add a 45 degree bevel to the corners of your outer walls, especially at the ends of your hallway pieces.

Advice from someone who has used the more expensive stuff: Do not make room with set doorways. Instead make 'flats' without walls of various sizes. Then use the separate smaller pieces (seen from roughly 0:44 to 1:20) around the edges to make the walls as needed.
@TheDMGinfo
@TheDMGinfo 5 жыл бұрын
It has never been a problem. Having the walls separate means more work "assembling" during play.

Ok so having a bit of a hard time finding the dual layer cardboard. I did however finally find a place that sells it in 4ft by 8ft sheets for $12.99 a sheet if you buy 9 or less but for $5.99 if you buy 10. I guess my question is how many sq ft do you think you would need to start off with..
@TheDMGinfo
@TheDMGinfo 10 жыл бұрын
ndsigns74 Well 4x8 foot would make quite a few tiles and walls. I think my entire set would comfortably fit in there. Probably 2 of those. However, you can make dual layer cardboard by glueing two single layer pieces together. Watch this video for more info: How To Make Strong Dual Layer Cardboard VLOG 11
