I was fortunate enough to visit this museum, and there is truly no way to describe the sheer size of the inside of the building. It is very impressive. The Museum itself is also worth the trip!

I grew up around the Air Museum. At one point, they had ALOT more planes in the blimp hangar. Now, just a few. I just picked up an original Bede 5 jet kit that was still boxed up with all the build sheets, parts, and instructions. Always wanted to fly one thru that blimp hangar, like James Bond. Would be room to spare. Glad you got to enjoy the Museum.

Wow that’s awesome - what a cool thing that would be to do. If you ever manage it, let us know! 😁

Tillamook is a monster of a hangar! I visited several years ago when is housed an extensive inventory of aircraft. Information was forwarded that the museum had closed and many of the aircraft relocated. This video appears to offer the "new scaled down" version of displays, yet the massiveness of the hangar remains to inspire.

It’s a shame about the aircraft collection, but glad that the hangar still exists and continues to be a great museum!

I enjoyed your video of the Tillamook Air Museum. Thanks for the filming. There are 6 more Hangers like that left out of 17 made. 2 were near where I lived at Moffett Field California. They just tore one down though, but there is an even bigger hanger also at Moffett field that housed the Macon air ship. Search for Moffet field Hangers 1,2,3 to see them. Also, Mythbusters TV show did a few episodes in Hanger 2* (just like the one you were in) folding the largest piece of paper. Probably can be seen on YTube. Moffett Field was a Naval Air station and NASA is based there too. Right next to the Google headquarters in Mnt. View.

Thanks for sharing - it's super interesting about the history of those hangars! Always loved Mythbusters too 😀 We will have to check out Moffet Field!

@@friendventurers The drawback to Moffett Field is you can't go to the Green Hanger as it's across the runway and no tours there. But, their Museum is right next to the big Hanger one which is being refurbished by Google. Also, NASA is part of the Base and they have a museum and tours too including the Worlds largest wind tunnel, and a Cray super computer, Flight simulators, ect.. Also, watch out for traffic around there during commute times. Google is based right next to there.
