You should always make your garden 4x as big as you want. It sucks to go back and haft to till again because you want to expand. I've done that before and learned my lesson.

Good advice. Although your methodology keeps the tractor in the barn more!🤣

I have the same tiller, Only tractor I have is a IH756 which has wider wheel base than the Tiller. Need smaller Tractor for it. Mine seems to bounce a lot when digging. Does better going backwards than forwards. Maybe I dont have the angle right? I'll tryt agai using the angle you are.

Nice. Tillers do great work on making an area look refined/finished.

How the grass impact the weeds? We're getting flower bed area of our property which most is sod I'm removing. Trying to decide how much needs to be removed before we through on the tiller
@IndyFarmLife
@IndyFarmLife 2 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure I 100% understand the question. Are you asking about how much of the sod you should remove before tilling? If it was me, I wouldn't remove any of it and just til the S&*T out of it! :)
@Krugerj1007
@Krugerj1007 2 жыл бұрын
@@IndyFarmLife yeah that was exactly my question. At first I used the box blade to get the sod out. However other section I just have tilled it multiple times and it was much easier

Hey do u have any liquid in your tires? I noticed you pulled that with a half ton, I have the same tractor with filled tires, but I had to upgrade my utility trailer up to a 14k big tex, and that's a little over 3k lbs, I always felt like a half ton would maybe struggle with my set up. I think I'm usually around the 8-10k range with attachments. Just curious how a half ton does with it, needing a new truck and possibly going with a half ton instead of a 2500 this time. Thanks good video bud

Hey Andy, no, I don't have fluid in my tires, and transport concerns are exactly why. My trailer/tractor combo come in around 8500/9000lbs. The 1500 seems to pull it just fine, but I hesitate to push it much further. I always like a little insurance/cushion. If I were to add fluid I would definitely get a trailer like yours, and then probably need a 2500. I don't think I would be comfortable with the 1500 at that point.

@@IndyFarmLife thanks for the response. They advertise these tractors around 4,400lbs, but I don't think that includes the loader, I haven't seen anywhere and I've researched this intensively. I can assume the loader is another 1,000lbs. 4 series tires filled are definitely over 500 a piece, with water, if you have something else they can definitely be heavier, but 1,000lbs is safe to assume for the tires. That makes you 6500lbs or so. Plus a rear attachment around 700-800lbs, puts you close to 7,500. Then the weight of my trailer which is 3,100lbs puts me in the 10k range, plus any extra attachments I may bring with me will add quite a bit. I had a!n 07 Duramax and it would still squat with my trailer loaded, I had to use timbrens to even it out when towing. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy or my math wasn't adding up. I appreciate your input in verifying what I was thinking! Thanks for the videos bud!

I have a 22ft tilt trailer for bringing more implements, but i also just picked up a Diamondback truck cover. The plan is to put an implement or two up there as it can hold 1600 lbs if needed.

What size is the trailer that you used to haul the tractor?
@IndyFarmLife
@IndyFarmLife 2 жыл бұрын
It's a 16+2. So 18ft in total. 16 foot flat and 2ft dovetail. 84" wide I believe. Dual 5,500lb axles I actually have a video on my channel about that trailer. It's a PJ Trailer. Let me know what other questions you may have.

Can you till in a continuous square direction or do you have to stop the machine and start a new row
@halfpintunicorn

@@IndyFarmLife can you turn 90 degrees with tiller in gaged in the ground. I believe it's ok as these machines are tuff..it's a john Deere x590 with a 30inch mechanical tiller and about a 20x20 field. That's ok right?

Man that 4066 is a bull. I currently have a 1026R and looking to upgrade to a 4052R but after seeing you push that heavy, wet top soil with the 4066, I'm wondering if the 4052 would do the same. I think the weight of the machines are the same but I'm wondering if the extra HP on the 66 is what makes it easy. In other words, could a 4052 push that wet pile of top soil like the 66 did? Now i'm rethinking what I might do. Thanks for the video, it helps to see the machine at work!

Indy Farm Life well that is good news! I’m a new sub for you and I’ll be catching up on your videos to see what the 52 can do. I enjoy seeing these machines actually being used for their intended purpose. When I do upgrade I’ll have to get a 6 or 7 foot finish mower to replace the belly mower on my 1026. Thinking about a 10 foot flex wing also. I’m sure 41 pto hp is enough for those but I’ve got more research to do. Thanks for the reply and stay safe!
