Fascinating synth string ensemble. This seems like a very expressive instrument!

Yes! The buttons are really sensitive and respond in three different ways, depending on which direction you push them.

Amazing, love the tilt action, have to get myself one of these ❤

Yes! The tilt gives a really unique texture to the sound! Thanks for alerting me about it.

Those look like white and dark chocolate chips...and they produce somber music, the kind you'd expect monks in a futuristic monastery to listen to while taking a break from making beer and olive oil, or saying prayers. Seriously though, those lines a gorgeous! What's trippy is that it has a vibrato sensitivity function. That makes practical sense, but it's also kind of weird, though in a good way. Nice polyphony in the second part, by the way.

Yes, I'm not quite comfortable using that vibrato. It feels a little forced. There are ways to adjust the functionality so the x and y axes do different things. Maybe I need to tweak until it becomes "my" instrument. The buttons totally look like chocolate chips! 😁 Thank you for listening and for your kind words, Karl.

Now what's this?!😮 It sounds huge!
@pbartmess21 күн бұрын
It's a little midi controller that also has it's own native sawtooth oscillator. By itself, it sounds somewhat weedy so I'm running the signal through my multieffects unit. Thanks for dropping by!

I love how organic that sounds, almost like an Ondes Marthinot or theremin! I had to look it up online because I hadn't seen this kind of device before; does it allow for non-western and microtonal scales as well?
@pbartmess18 күн бұрын
Yes! I'm thrilled by the expressivity of this device! It does allow for alternative tunings. It has 9 presets and I have scanned that page of my manual and added it as a "KZbin Post" on this channel. They aren't specifically non-Western but I can go into the configuration file and change the value for each key. I have found charts for these values at en.xen.wiki/w/Main_Page and www.plainsound.org/ but I must admit the material a little above my reading level. I have been watching Zheanna Rose's channel a lot and she has a clear explanation of how to configure a standard keyboard for microtonal use in a DAW but I haven't tried that for my Striso. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6OxlICkm81or68

ohh wow,,,i want one of these...This looks so kool..Love Gadget's like this.. Can you play chords? i noticed mostly single notes...Almost has that Vowel Format Filter sound with a added distortion in there.......Nice🎼🎵🎶🎚🎛🎛🎛🎛🎛
@pbartmess20 күн бұрын
Oh yeah I forgot to demonstrate chords! One of my favorite aspects of this layout is that it's easy to transpose chords across the keyboard by just holding your fingers in the same shape. I do have a filter applied to that distortion so the vocal quality comes through when I bend the button sideways. Nice catch! I love using this with my effects pedals because it responds in such expressive ways.
@rhampton191420 күн бұрын
@@pbartmess Yes, that distortion is really something.I've been wanting to get in my synthesizer.Sound for a while.That's a really nice quality distortion... If you get. A chance to look up the plinky.I think you would really like that.I just sold mine..
