Tim's version of Nemo however, I really understand what you mean with that '80s flow and all but, I think the song is never meant to sound like that. Don't get me wrong though, Tim's voice is awesome, loved him in his former band Di-rect. But somehow, even after a few times listening it doesn't hit me. Beste Zangers 2019 was so special. I started watching Floor's stuff first, but I fell in love with the voices and personalities of everyone else. All of the other singers brought such a unique style to every song they did, and they were all so supportive of each other. It was like a blueprint for how life should be.

Amen to that! It's interesting because I watched all the Floor performances, then decided to watch then entire episodes from the beginning. I think I was defensive of Floor because "no one in The Netherlands knows who you are"!?!? I wasn't sure if I would like a few of them (Samantha and Rolf, in particular). By the end of the first episode, I realized how wrong I was! I actually own music from both of them now! The genuine respect and affection that developed between all of them was a beautiful thing to see.

I have both of these songs plus Tim's original version of winner and Floor and Tim's cover of Shallow in my ipod from this show. Actually, I have every performance of Floor from this show in my ipod. Great reaction Thomas, this show is simply the best music show out there (for me anyway). Be it these 2 great songs or any of the great songs they've created over the seasons, they always deliver high quality. A large part of that quality is ofc the Marcel Fisser Band, top quality musicians who can play anything, they are basically the "Floor Jansen of backing bands" because not only are they capable to play anything, they can also make the needed changes, some small, some complete rewrites, to get the song to where it needs to be, they are truly amazing. Some examples, their takes on Nemo, Despacito, Hotel California, and so on, each season they will have songs that are completely different from the original version and each time it will be on par with that original.

It's funny how Tim did Nemo in his own style, actually 90s rock, with his typical, gritty style, and speeded up because he had to shorten the time, as others mentioned, because of the 3-minute time slot, and then Floor next, doing his song from his latest album, and using her version of his gritty style to perform it. Absolutely stunning, amazing and emotional indeed. You need to do all of her performances from Beste Zangers 2019 now, and almost all by the other singers too, to be very honest. I am sure you will love them all. The 2019 edition was by far the best of the entire series so far. I honestly think that they not only made a great choice regarding the singers for that season's edition, better singers and more varied genres than ever before, but they also had Floor, IMO pushing everybody to new heights and levels than ever before, just by her performances. And it all started with her first performance, first singer on the first show, Vilja Lied, for Henk Poort. And as ever, geat reaction, showing your emotions too. Thank you, Thomas! Since Nightwish songs are always so long, Tim would have to take speed to break the song down to 3 minutes. Kudos for not interrupting both songs. This, in my opinion, forms the basis for the most honest response. Because you can only move on the appropriate emotional level where a song wants you to go. That doesn't work with interruptions.

They showed some clips of her performing with her brothers as she calls them. It certainly helped introducing many new fans to Nightwish. And that is why the tickets for their 2 concerts in november this year in Amsterdam were sold-out within hours. And I was one of the lucky ones to get tickets 💪

I'm more than a little conflicted about "Nemo" Tim's vocals truly blew me away and I've explored more of his music after hearing this. There are so few male vocalists that I enjoy, but he is on that short list now! I think I've made peace with LOVING Floor's, Tim's (and Tarja's) version, each unique and wonderful in their own ways!
