The UCP did well over $80 billion in very costly debacles and mistakes, and this includes losing Alberta hundreds of millions of dollars by forsaking collecting property taxes from the oil companies in Alberta, and the UCP not paying property taxes on provincial government buildings in municipalities in Alberta. This is why municipalities in Alberta must charge increased municipal property taxes.

Yeah, that felt disingenuous. Also, the LRT isn’t going to show revenue improvements when 37% of the former user population considers transit dangerous. That thing will sit empty.

Priority Based Budgeting done well would be the most powerful tool to illustrate alignment to priorities. Words like reallocation start showing up. Reallocation allows you to forgo tax increases to fund lower value areas. If you want to clearly see an ROI on tax dollars this is the tool.
