Tim Curry is able to summon idling-diesel-engine levels of vocal fry at any pitch and any volume. It's a feature that I've never heard any impressionist get right. Brennan gets the mannerisms spot on, but there's something in Tim Curry's voice that just defies impression.

There are two parts to an impression. You have the basic acoustics of the person/thing you're impersonating, and the style of sound of the person/thing you're impersonating. You could get someone who can sound exactly like Tim Curry but speaks with the cadence and vocabulary of, I dunno, Joe Rogan and it would sound like a really shitty impression of Tim Curry. Or, you could get someone who doesn't sound like Tim Curry but is able to reproduce the manner in which Tim Curry speaks (or, in this case, the way characters he's been cast as speak) and it would be a much better impression. In a perfect world, an impressionist can do both, but most people physically/anatomically can't accomplish the former near as much as they can accomplish the latter. Basically, there's Tim Curry's sound and then there's Tim Curry's voice. Brennan did an impression of the voice, not the sound. And it was really good though obviously imperfect.
