Tim was my neighbor growing up. I even babysat for his girlfriend's kids. It was so much fun to see the pieces appear in his side yard over the years. He was a good guy. He will be missed.

I came to know Tim a little bit late in his life through a friend of his during his visits to the Chicago area. I lost track of him after 2014 and was greatly saddened to learn of his passing in 2016. He was an excellent stone artist but more than that, a remarkable soul and mind. He was a crazy Irishman in the very best sense of the word - unfiltered, unpolished, subversive but deeply creative and literate. He was as good at the art of the story or a wide ranging late night chat about history and metaphysics as he was with a chisel or a glass of single malt! One of my favorite tales about him was his return from a visit to Ireland many years ago. He came through U.S. Customs wearing a Civil War kepi and with only two big buckets full of Connemara marble. When asked about that, he told the inspector he was stealing Ireland one piece at a time :) It delayed his passage considerably! I had the opportunity to visit his home and workshop and even to spend a couple of weeks sailing the Great Lakes aboard his prized boat The Morrighan. I regret deeply I never seized those opportunities because he seemed like the force-of-nature figure who would always be around to offer another chance at such meetings. Had I met him long ago and had I had any artist hands, I would have loved to have learned the craft from him. I was helping him on a very informal basis to try to market some of his more interesting and...unconventional works and I would love to eventually acquire some of his work, even the small examples. If anyone can put me onto any custodian of his works or heirs interested in selling any or even just sharing his story, it would be much appreciated.
