Thank you for sharing! Living in Minnesota, I totally understand his feelings. Just after Christmas and New Years, I am ready for winter to be done but nope. That's when we get the polar vortexes he experienced in "Southerner in the Snow"....so unbelievably cold that no one goes outside unless they have to. And each year, I ask myself "Why am I here?" And each year I tell myself the same thing "Because you like the seasons!" and foolish me, I believe it!

I was born, raised and continue to live in Minnesota. I hate the heat, so Minnesota is just fine with me. It isn't everyone's cup of chocolate, but I can always put more on to stay warm. Taking more off isn't an option at my age as it would cause everyone else to close their eyes and leave immediately. Traffic would be horrible.

Thank you Ingrid. I'm a Midwesterner and hate winter as much as he does. Love his speaking voice as much as I love his singing voice. He is a master at whatever he does.

@@marciag7342 glad you liked it! I only found one more of his written texts (clapping in theaters) but I know there were at least 2 more but couldn't find them anymore. But I thought this one was perfect for this time of year anyway!

As I get older, and the arthritis in my spine gets worse, getting exercise gets harder. It's the standing. I'm only good for five, or maybe 10 minutes. So walking leaves me frequently looking for suitable rock to sit on. I certainly can't dance every tip when I go square dancing. And I don't love snow as I did as a kid. But, interestingly, bending over seems to give some relief, so I can get some exercise by shoveling snow. Still, I can understand the attraction of cold, snow, and darkness not lasting much into the New Year. But here in New Hampshire, I dread spring, because it means mud, tree pollen all over my car, and, worst of all, black flies. (Though the peepers make nice music.)

I can imagine that - it's definitely not near as bad here in South Germany - but I still don't like the cold! That's why I remembered this 'Burning Brisket' of Tim's from quite a while back and asked him to record it...

Thank you! I’m in the NW US. How did I think cool thoughts in summer when it was 110 degrees F? By eating ice cream and watching Do You Hear What I Hear. How did I warm up when it snowed this winter? I danced around to Tim’s song Snow Globe.

I live in Maine and have a love/hate thing with winter, but with climate change I'm just grateful I don't live somewhere it reaches 100 degrees with high humidity in the summer. I'd rather freeze than liquify.

This is great Ingrid! I agree with Tim and understand completely! I'm from South Georgia about an hour away from Austin's hometown. It might get lower than the freezing point about 3 wks out of the winter and it's only snowed maybe 3 times in the last 40 yrs with only the slightest amount of snow, no real accumulation! Mostly melted before it touched the ground. The most I've Ever seen here was about 1/16" -1/8" 1 time lasting less than 1day!

This made me crack up. Being from Canada, I totally get why this "frosts your biscuit"...it gets so cold. What had me on the floor laughing was when you said you were an a cappella slut! You crack me up Tim. Stay warm and if you do have to go where it's cold, no more snow angels. lmao 💕
