a lesser known release from tim hecker, which i still find very beautiful. you're definitely going to appreciate it if radio amor is one of your favorite albums in tim's discography.

I love how Tim's music is so hypnotic and how there are no rules or boundaries to it and yet he stays within his own known confines for the most part as every now and then he crashes through and beyond that threshold. It's like watching the universe reveal all of it's secrets in one super fast time lapse as a visual treat but as you witness it you're suspended in the vast emptiness making it feel slow motion. Such surreal beauty. This release is great. It's as though Hecker picked up a used paintbrush from his earlier works like Mirages and added some different but similar colors to fill out the rest of the canvas.

To me it just feels like he's moving into a new style. I definitely haven't warmed up to it yet, but you can start to hear that newer sound appear in Virgins, and Love Streams really seems to be the link between his original sound and the Konoyo/Anoyo sound.

yeah, i think that ravedeath was the start of this transition and, generalizing a bit, you can definitely hear a difference between the two halves of his work. at first i was obsessed with virgins and love streams, but with time i grew tired with them and i started appreciating more of his earlier stuff. mirages, radio amor, trade winds white noise (my favourite ones right now) have that vaguely melancholic feel to them that was somehow lost in the maximalism of his latter releases, except maybe for ravedeath, which has one of the best closing tracks ever imo and the anoyo ep

konoyo/anoyo is honestly some of his best work. probably virgins then radio amor then those two, but it's definitely a much different style than his older stuff.

Aidan Miles sadly, you can’t unless you find some rare copy on discogs or something like that, but it’ll probably be very expensive. the cd was released with a magazine, so it’s very hard to come by nowadays
