Your video is very well done. May I make a suggestion. Could you please try using a small amount of the distress pencils. Just put the pencil where you would have dark color. Then add a small amount of water. Thus will result in the shading. If you need to add more, just small amounts until you get it as dark as you want it. The trick with multiple layers, dry brush technique.
