Great segment, Legs is the best in the business right now talking pure basketball.

That was a great segment with Legs! I totally enjoyed his feedback on the Cavaliers! It’s so rare that a national analyst has the chance to talk in-depth about our Cavs it’s a shame and the way he broke down Darius and Ty’s contributions to this team this season I wanted to hear more. Thanks! 😎👍🏾🏀

1. JBB had lost Mitchell, and probably lost him after the Knicks series a season prior. 2. Most damning piece of evidence on JBB was his 17-1 run mid year last year, as soon as he got his stable back, he started losing games because he was forcing 38 minute nights when he didn't need to. 3. The offense is so much more advanced under Atkinson, way better focus on pace and space, more ball movement, more player movement.. it's a priority to drive, kick, swing, re-set, reverse.. very different than JBB. 4. Defense now switches everything, which has effected their top level defense, but has allowed them to be better on forcing mid-range shots vs close out 3's and when they close the possession with a DReb they turn the floor quickly. This wasn't a matter of guys just figuring it out, it was a concerted change by the coaching staff on how to play the game.
@rccollins1456Ай бұрын
well said, I would give JB some slack if this wasn't his resume even before coming to Cleveland... 1st half the team looks great, then other teams adjust and his team collapses in the second half and in the playoffs. Also, his plays after timeouts were a joke, and as you pointed out, his teams were a disaster in the 4th quarter.
@stephaniechaffin1154Ай бұрын
The biggest reasons are 1. They are moving the ball very well. 2. They are hitting their 3's, EVERYONE seems to hit the 3 at a high percentage 3. The pace is much faster 4. Mobley has finally become more aggressive 5. The D is really good. 6. Atkinson uses the bench so much better than JBB ever did. 7. They have stayed healthy except for Strus 8. They have finally learned to play together 9. Ty Jerome could start on 20 teams in the NBA 10. Destiny. They will win a Championship this decade, possibly 2 and this year will be the first one.

J.B is a good coach, But KA just seemed to realize its more important and helps EVERYONE with that much depth on the team, the minutes can be spread out more and also helps load management. Also i want to say that when Strus comes back, KA gonna have SIMILAR J.B issues as to who gets minutes. # Ty Jerome = TY BUCKETS. Also Legs' Definition of "the green light" and how thats evolved was Epic.

Adam the Bull is always clueless and clearly knows nothing about basketball. He claimed everyone was down on this team. Nope, that was just him. The rest of us knew what the team needed: a coach who truly understands X’s and O’s.
@stephaniechaffin1154Ай бұрын
Jason Lloyd (You Know, The same Jason Lloyd who is our Insider in Basketball, the same man who thought Evan Mobley was left handed) was down on The Cavaliers as well. I can't tell you how many times I have heard him say that Donovan Mitchell was not going to resign with Cleveland and that they should trade him. Both have definitely changed their tune. I don't want cheerleaders but I also down want negative Nancy's like all of the guys are when they talk about The Browns.

This type of fluid offense seems a better fit for Evan, than the "station to station" pick and roll.

Garland lost over 20 lbs last year when he broke his jaw last year in the middle of the damn season. At this level of basketball that’s almost impossible to come back and be at the same level.
@morussell6611Ай бұрын
People sleeping on the guard play of Ty Jerome and LeVert off the bench. They’ve been opening games up for us this year. We have maybe the best bench in the league this year. LeVert is so free this year because Jerome compliments him so well defenses can’t really key in on LeVert.

I disagree. Bickerstaffs team would be 9-5. It's using the bench often and a lot. Bickerstaff would run the 5 main guys for 38 min a game. You have to play deep into your bench to be good

With J.B cavs would be 5-8 right now

Not a Cavs fan just love Legs ! Great episode
@RADLADRICKАй бұрын
Yes great comparison Mobley / Bosh 👍 Excellent analogy . But I said it last year on many threads and I’ll say it again even though we’re doing great- the Cavs need a veteran lockdown defender - a big man power forward or small forward coming off the bench that can score. That is the missing ingredient. We could beat a lot of teams as we are , but it comes down to matchups. if we get in the finals and we’re playing the Lakers (just for example) -LeBron and A.D. will kill us on both sides of the ball. Cavs won’t beat the Lakers in 7 games series with our current line up -Imo. Of course I’m a big LeBron fan, but I’m also a huge NBA fan and a basketball fan since early 70s. I just love the NBA and the X’s / O’s associated with it.
@pman6549Ай бұрын
Personally, the guards are the difference for me. How the hell are Austin reaves and dlo gonna stop the cavs backcourt in a 7 game series. On the other hand. I can definitely see how mobley and Allen will be able to partially slow down bron and ad
@RADLADRICKАй бұрын
@ a healthy AD and Lebron is danger to any team. Cavs are better team but nobody has a lebron or AD and I’m not a Lakers fan. Our starters are solid ,I was referring to the beach - Cavs need a lock down defender off the bench that can put it in the basket too. But I also agree with your reply too. Cavs have quite a tandem in the backcourt and front court and they are playing with house money and are looking g very confident in their play

You all need to stop with the oh it wasn't JB. I watched almost every cavs game last year it was JB, that's why he was fired, and they didn't make any trades.
@dearmas9068Ай бұрын
JB is a great coach. Its partially the fact that Atkinson is incredible, and the other parts are health, synergy and continuity, a leap from Mobley, and a resurgence from Garland.
@johnnyb6151Ай бұрын
There are good coaches and then there are Good coaches. JB is average coach in my opinion. I called for a change 2 yrs ago. Why? Because he led the league in letting teams come back from double digit leads in the 4th quarter. And he allowed Donovan an DG doninate the ball too much.
@rccollins1456Ай бұрын
Yep, JB should have been gone after the New York playoff debacle.
@danejordan8276Ай бұрын
JB is like Doc Rivers. Good at establishing a culture… however offensive X’s and O’s terrible. Offensively JB was handicapped. It was sit around and let Mitchell score. Give Kenny praise for elevating the players on this team. JB is not good enough. Bold take Mitchell is the modern day MJ.
@dearmas9068Ай бұрын
Thats not true. JB is a really good coach and he is NOT weak in the Xs and Os.
