How is that going to change the ageing population that is the real cause of the pressure on the system, Einstein. It's what brought Chrysler down, the pension bill had swollen to 4 billion a year, they were not dying fast enough. The same with a system that was not designed to carry so many old people as a proportion of the population. When it was set up, they were only 10% of the population, now they're a Third. You're just lucky that even Sam is too clueless to connect those dots and take it so easy on you guys. The only ones that are compensating for that are foreign workers who are making up for the lack of workers paying into the system, and they often go home and don't drain the system for complex health problems as well as state provision via welfare. Just because someone told you about illegals and you hate brown people so much, you got totally sold on it, didn't you, Dunning Kruger Effect. No, the problem there is not enough of you are willing to pay a decent wage to Americans and therefore create a draw into that economy for illegal workers, who do not drain from the system, because they are not eligible for anything, like durp, what kind of galaxy-brained individual would fall for that.

The interesting thing about salaries and taxation is that employers generally have to pay employees enough to cover their expenses, including taxes, or they won't have employees. So SS tax is included in salaries. If the SS tax were eliminated, do you think employers would keep paying people that money? Of course not.
@itsROMPERS...2 ай бұрын
It's weird how many people think that employers just pay people a bunch of money regardless of economic circumstances. If taxes go up, salaries go up. They have to, because of employees can't afford to pay and they go bankrupt out have to move some place cheaper, they lose employees. You have to pay people enough, and that means covering their taxes. If taxes are cut, salaries and wages will be cut, employers will not just give away money they didn't have to. Of course different rules apply for top executive, but that's different.

@@ssumo89 The UK recentlyish had a Libertarian prime minister. She was prime minister, for only, 49 days. Within that 49 days she completely crashed the UK economy and her own party (The conservative party) kicked her out. Shortest serving Prime Minister in the UK's rich history. Last election, her seat which is considered a "safe" seat that will vote for her no matter what, even voted her out due to the disaster. This should tell everyone everything they need to know about Libertarian's ability to lead a country. I recommend all Americans to use this as an example against the likes of Vlad Pool and Ivan Rubin.

Contempt for anyone poor or needing help. That's what it stems from. These people want a "Disposal Service" for anyone old or poor. These people also do not question the stupidity of their "Inflation" claim. If someone worked 10 hours yesterday, you don't get to say "Oops, turns out you only worked 4 hours, because Inflation". Savings should increase in value in tandem with Inflation.

If we had an honest system for ensuring workers received *more* than just a living, and comfortable wage, so that they could save for their own retirements *and* also still have money left over to donate to charities which would take care of those unable to work, we could potentially discuss a world without social security. But as it is, the young people wouldn't have enough money as it is to stay afloat with or without paying taxes. It's crazy that he thinks that someone's tax money is enough to actually make *that* much of a difference in their quality of life. No way, dude.

Where does Tim think all that Social Security money goes if you end the program? People stoll have to take care of the elderly parents and grandparents! But then, the individual families have to take care of the elderly with no outside support, which usually costs a lot more than their social security tax! Even early free-market philosophers like Thomas Paine understood that communal elder care and poverty mitigation policies are was a necessity to keep society running smoothly and to allow people live fullfilling lives.
