It has to be slow, because they didn't want the creepy dynamic of superior and lower ranked cop. It's a power dynamic and they didn't want it. So they waited until Lucy was a good, full-fledged cop and had her own career before anything.

They're "magic" together now? Lol this is like her 3rd appearance. She's barely mentioned. The whole no marriage, no kids thing ever clearly threw him and he didn't look happy. He talked about wanting all of that with his ex-wife. At least this shows Ashley probably won't be around much longer. Hopefully 🙏 Lucy was so flustered. She obviously has feelings for Tim and was pushing marriage at him all day and as a way to mask her crush. She's keeping Chris around because she doesn't know what else to do. I totally thought she would impulsively want to meet the parents before receiving the "gotcha," text.

Unless they hide from everyone that they are a couple, but they will not receive it in secret for so long, everyone can guess that there is something wrong between them. At the beginning I knew how they announced that it would be a prank because Tim is not as in love as with Lucy. And it shows how he talks to her and smiles and shows his real, and with Aschley, it's just not to think and not to show that I feel something for Lucy. I saw Tim's face also. His eyes was one of conceit. Tim's pride was hurt. He knows he's a great looking guy and the thought of her not wanting kids for him nor marry him, is what was there. His eyes shifting to Lucy and knowing he was gonna make Lucy jealous help give him away. If Tim loved Ashley, he would have hugged or kissed or both, when he saw her. His first concern was I hope this girl doesn't think I want to marry her.

And this was the reason. IF the writers want them as friends and Bishop said this and that and can't be, because it would be hypocritcal- why that scene? Why showing Lucy hurt about this? When Tim decides, which makes sense, to not "cross that line" (because he would hurt lucy's career) and his reaction after their kiss was just "confusion", you can clearly see here and in the car when Tim said he can imagine to marry ashley , that Lucy has feelings for him. So if writers want them as platonic friends, why go that way? But tbh I also read that the firefighter girlfriend that I don't even remember the name of is a "fan favorite" - exuse me what? THIS is a big part some people still watch the show, because they are so fun to watch together.

In terms of Chenford, nah, it's not one sided after the finale. Once they kissed in the finale, Tim realized his feelings for her. Lucy for sure realized it first but Tim's 100% gonna fall harder. As for Tim and Ashley, I think they are attracted to each other, they just don't have any chemistry together
