RIP. Shame on NASCAR for pretending Tim never existed for 20+ years. Fans never forgot him and never will.

I just learned of Tim recently. I am really disappointed about his story and how he was treated.

Shame on NASCRAP for a lot of things. Look how they colluted with doctors and labs to crush Jeremy Mayfield. I stick to my dirt track roots. NASCRAP has been trash since the early 90's. They depend on shallow minded ignorant hillbillies to fund their name game agenda.

Tim was really the first guy to come from a dirt sprint car back ground and it showed in this video clip. He had that car sideways at both ends of the track for 12 laps and never fenced it. Most of the drivers would've fenced it. They were also running bias ply tires then which give some of the best racing we have ever seen because they were more forgiving than radials. I miss seeing the cars go through the turn with smoke coming from the right rear...it was f'ing awesome !

Dale Earnhardt "Tim Richmond a hella Driver" thats no hollywood stunt. even the announcers, Harry hyde cant believe this race car and driver are still on the track with a cut tire at these speeds. Amazing Driver.

I remember Buddy Baker saying about driving the winged Dodges. He said he could light the tires up just slightly in the turns to cause a little smoke to let the guy behind him think he was about to lose it. They backed off, he would pull away. This going on at about 190 mph.
@sidebite2533 Жыл бұрын
Ahh Yes, the Bakers. Old Buck Baker was the Klansman who stole a first place trophy from Wendell Wallace after being lapped 5 times. Doesn't surprise Me one bit that Baker wouldn't allow a faster car to go bye and pass him back after 4 fresh tires. That would take patience, class, and knowledge.

@Suzanne-t3l2 ай бұрын
Dave was jealous of Tims success on the track. And was trying his hardest to set Tim back a few steps. Tim had 10 poles and 6 or 7 wins that year. With a very strong Dale Earnhardt having a terrific year. The only Winston st Atlanta.

It was the Winston Invitational. The equivalent to the All-Star Open for today. Kinda the All-Star Race before the All-Star Race. DW was on the pole for the actual Winston itself that year.

Sure miss the ol' days. I can watch these ol' clips all day. What I quit watching was thar "woke" crap that's on now, and had been struggling for years with the clown shows broadcasting the races and the the disrespectful clown kids out there racing.
@noezrider63613 жыл бұрын
@Johnny Boone Yep. Same here. It was a hard habbit to break, but then again, the disrespectful clowns in the "it's all about me" attitude, the "missing it" went away pretty quick. I did watch the SRX deal and reminded me of the ol' Saturday night Late Model races. That was cool. Glad we have KZbin for the ol' stuff. Good times.
