Harry Hyde once caught me sneaking into the pits at Talladega and didn't rat me out. Years later as a teenager I met him at a promotional event at the Talladega motorsports hall of fame and he remembered letting me go. Absolutely a humble genuine man. But back in the 80s most all of them were. Today's drivers are petty divas and a disgrace to the crew chiefs and drivers who built this sport.

I would say that is the only time Harry Hyde ever fixed a driver a cup of coffee and brought it to his driver
