David's Lynch Dune is truly amazing and one of a kind. The audience back in the day couldn't understand it due to its Byzantine complexity of power play. Toto's soundtrack is not only magnificent but truly lifts the emotions on every scene and matches perfectly with the story line.

one of my favorite renditions of this score's melody 6:44 - if somewhat obscure - is the track "Legacy" from the Emperor Battle For Dune game. It's slowed down to a pace that in some ways works even better imo. This is not to downplay Toto's version but a great example of what can emerge when great composers play off each others' work.

Forget Hans Zimmer and Villenueve's bullshit take on Herberts Masterpiece(s)... Lynch was right on track until the studio intervened. But his version is the closest to the book. He also captures the essence of the characters. Whereas Villenueve makes some horrible casting decisions... his characters are robotic and flat and the decision to use grey as an overall palette for the whole movie was ridiculous. Everything about it missed the mark! TOTO, the Vienna Symphony and Brian Eno. Yeah baby! Lynch is a real artist and knows his shit!
