And.. I got the prayer flags from a small independent bookstore in Grants Pass, Oregon, called Aquarius Books & Gifts. This RV is the Minnie Winnie 25B, and almost any RV dealership can offer you up to a 20 year loan from the model year of the vehicle (if your credit qualifies you, of course).
Subscribe to this channel to see the amazing food prepared in this small kitchen, and chew on some food for thought as well.
We can all benefit from redefining what "enough" looks like, and re-think what we think we "need." I work part time so I can live full time, and so can you. Maybe not to this extreme, but certainly downsize, minimize, and reevaluate some "stuff." It's possible to do all the things you SAY you wish you could do (volunteer more, read books, take yoga, breathe, cook, bake, hike, kayak, and lead a stress-free life in service to others). This is a tour of my RV followed by an explanation of my transition from a conventional lifestyle to being liberated and at peace. This isn't very different from renting a room in a friend's house, except it's significantly less intrusive. If you have more than enough, don't raise your standard of living, raise your standard of giving. Build a longer dining table, not a taller fence. Live simply so that others can simply live. Namaste.
When you get little, you want more. When you get more, you desire even more. But when you lose everything, you realize LITTLE was enough. /|\
______
Timber Hawkeye, bestselling author of Buddhist Boot Camp and Faithfully Religionless, prescribes gratitude as medicine for people to heal themselves from the inside out. His message invites the best version of you to resurface, inevitably leading to the true meaning of success (being happy), and better health (mental, physical, emotional and spiritual). In an ongoing effort to eradicate society's ever-growing sense of entitlement, which he considers nothing short of an epidemic, and replace it with a sense of appreciation for each breath we are given, Timber's intention is to awaken, enlighten, enrich and inspire, by sharing mindfulness-enhancing techniques that anyone can relate to and implement in their daily lives.

I have watched so many hours of minimalism content, but this video of yours has all the juice of minimalism in just 18 mins. I too have become a minimalist myself, as from my early days I was always inclined towards feeling more at peace with living simply, but now I have embraced it fully with all my heart, and I see all the stress to cope up with the world, just for the sake of it is gone...now I sigh only with relief. 😊....instead of running after money to buy things others own, I now do things which are more pleasureable and costs nothing, like connecting to nature, enjoying time with family rather than technology, loving the neighbourhood I live in daily rather than 2 weeks of holidays I get once in a year.

Thanks for the Video. Well done and well said. My wife and I lived in our sailboat and traveled much of the world over a 25 yr period . Not because we were wealthy but we adopted much of your philosophy. We are not Buddhist but think along those lines. People would think that we had a big inheritance (we had none) or some kind of wind fall. We have had experiences in life that money can’t buy. At 74 yrs old we are getting ready to do it again with a motorhome. see out there!!

Working part-time to live full time. I've been living as a solo nomad since 2004 and traveled alone since 1996. For the past few years I've managed to live on around $7,000 a year, and I've travelled and explored a lot during the winter months. I prefer to be out in nature, away from cities and towns. We truly don't need much to be happy. I live in an Astro Van, and lack for nothing. I love this life and intend to continue living this way until I'm ready to try something else.

I love your kitchen area. When lived in an RV, I cooked everything from scratch: bread, yogurt & every single meal. It was the healthiest I've ever been. I rode my bike to work. I was fit & free. I had very little money, but I had time. I appreciate you exposing the "big lie" we are all programmed into at a young age: get a good job, a 30-40-50 year mortgage, new car every year & spend, spend, SPEND with your credit card & you'll be happy. There IS another way.

A studio was my first apt and I love it. It’s very big for a studio and people tell me the same thing. I am now over 40 and still in my studio and I pay less on my mortgage than what some ppl pay for rent. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. I tell my friends and family if you do not want to see my studio then do not visit. I just do not get why ppl live their lives for others. I am almost done paying for it and I am staying right there. I drive a Mazda 5 and it is a used car with no payments. Do not get sucked into the world of everyone trying to keep up to the Kardashian’s and spend what they do not have. I am a teacher and I love my life as I travel and enjoy life and am very stress free. I see all my friends who are doctors and lawyers and work with corporate companies how stressed they are. They can keep that life We need to get the notion out our heads that we must have all the latest gadgets and wear brand name clothes. When my friends tell me to get with it I laugh to their faces because I am so relaxed. Define your happiness and do not let others project on you because with all the material things they are bloody unhappy. Just look at how many celebrities on drugs commit suicide etc yet ppl yearn to live that lifestyle. Live life on your terms

I agree so much with what you said. I’m trying to get my husband on board with the idea of tiny living. Men feel they can’t be proud of something that’s not grandiose but I’m like vacationing 10 times a year instead of once every 2 years is my idea of grandiose. Forget the big house. I don’t want to clean it.

Jaida 007, I wish you the best. You can do it. I did. I hit the same plateau at age 25...in the end, I walked away from the "career" I had chosen, then decided to get out of the full time rat race and the ever-growing effort and expense of "keeping up with the Joneses." Back then, I heard a great deal about the "mistake" I was making. The most difficult part is getting started! Now, I am over 50, have not worked a full time job since I was 25, and yet I still live a debt free life with plenty of savings to carry me through even a lack of part time work.

I just happened to click on your video and you have a new subscriber!! I've been following the tiny house movement and van conversion but your layout of your RV makes getting an RV seem like a great idea! I've been doing a lot of soul searching because I find myself exhausted chasing the rat race. I want freedom to roam and travel rather than stuck working my life away only to travel once I reach retirement. My motto is "the world is too big to stay in one spot" I can't wait to get things paid off and find my home on wheels to take me wherever my heart desires.

I'm more at peace, not stressed by any means, motivated others whom enter my home to follow suit. The RV is something I will give serious thought to. I own a larger home than needed but in due time that will go downsizing to smaller space. Excites me Timber Hawkeye that I can honestly say 'I'm on your journey with Peace and Tranquility' Namaste!

Great video. we live in a "vacation" community in NC where many people live full time in RVs. They allow room additions and roof overs on their RVs, since you own the land not rent. We have an almost 3 year old. Living tiny allows me to stay at home and lower bills each month to actually enough life. We have a 365 acre lake here and get to enjoy nature whenever we want. It's been an amazing change moving away from NYC and actually living life.

I love your concept of “enough”. When we define what we want and need on our terms then we’re not bogged down by social expectations and competition seizes. We can just be. If I don’t get married and have a family, I plan to downsize from my 600 sq ft studio into something smaller. It will be more than enough.

Just FYI, if your spin cycle does that to your machine there's way too much laundry in it. I have the same type of machine but with separate chambers for washing and spin cycle. It gets too heavy and can't spin correctly if you put too much laundry in it since the basket is only supported at the bottom and the centrifugal force travels upwards so the top of the basket start's oscillating in a much wider circle than the bottom. Only fill it a third of the way and press down as hard as you can on it with your hand (so the basket becomes bottom heavy) and you'll get a much better result. No need to hold your machine down once it's in full spin.

I’m not sure why but this video really spoke to me, i stubbled across this video looking to see how other cope living in a camper, to me that’s more than enough. Recently i have gotten a DUI and totaled my vehicle. This caused me to think about my actions and how I’ve acted in the past, how my bad decisions and habits affect you life. I’ve started really thinking deeper as well about what i value and how i want to be seen as successful and basically how silly what most people call life really is. Currently i work 50 or so hours a week and honestly i still find time to be happy and have a life. I suppose what I’m trying to say is even though I’ve realized that living to other people’s expectations is not what i or anybody needs to be happy we could all manage and progress without money or society’s definition of success. We could all do with less and be happy

Wonderful! For someone who is transitioning to a minimalist way of living, this is just what I needed to hear. Thank you for the enlightening words. I may not live in an RV like you but the thought of "having less is more" and redefining success based on your personal need and satisfaction makes a lot of sense. Now, I just need to make way to get out of the cubicle and celebrate life with the world and truly live. :-) Namaste!

Thank you for the inspiration, I'm 50yr and want to ditch the apartment and live full time in a camper van. Life as society expects is not sustainable and feels like shackles on my ankles to survive the daily grind and expenses. I"m well educated with a good paying job yet can't make ends meet due to extreme prices. I'm glad many more people are tunring to this lifestyle. I get so much pressure to conform to corporate society and rejected when wanting to live in a camper but now it's becoming popular and so happy to be inspired by others. Looking forward to finding my camper van! RV sounds nice but where the heck to you park it all the time?? Seems hard to get around in for day to day activities. Thinking the van will be easier.

Thank you for this! I am in the process of remodeling a trailer I purchased to live in full time and completely agree with everything you said. I have always had a minimalist mentality but did get caught up in my mid twenties in the mindset that I needed to have all of this stuff to define my success. The truth of it is, the more I had, the more I felt weighed down. Paying for rent for an apartment I only saw on evenings and weekends and working for items that I do not need and aren't bringing me joy. I am now in the process of shedding my excess, from clothes, belongings and debt. Luckily, I am not in debt as much as others and see the light at the end of the tunnel. Your video came right in time because I was feeling a bit uneasy about my decision and felt I was leaving solid ground and taking a big leap off a cliff. But after watching this, I am more at ease about my decision to jump, because with every step I take and every item I shed, I know I will gain so much more. Thanks again!

currently working on becoming a minimalist, it's kinda hard when I live with my fam who feels like they are exagerating when i wanna cut things out. but it's so true, not only is it stress relief when you own less but also helathy when you don't stress so much!, but a bit at a time. it's actyally esciting when i think of worrying less... on a nother note, the toilet baggy looks scary and cool all at the same time lol

I share your sentiments in so many ways and just purchased a motorhome. I wonder whether you could spare me a few minutes and speak on the phone with me? I am trying to figure out how to live in an RV, where to go, what to do... and now that I've seen your video, perhaps also how to transform it into a space that works for me, rather than the other way around.

First, I love the choices you made in the way youve set up your RV to live. I'm working on selling my condo & plan to buy an RV much like yours to travel in for a couple of years. I will also need a permanent base to prove to the Canadian Gov't I'm still a citizen, but I can accomplish that with a cheap room for rent. But second, you're so correct about taking responsibility for your choices. I struggled with "I must" a lot when i was younger. As the kid of immigrants, i thought I had to do college & get a professional job. Once I told a therapist how much I adored my part time Tour Guide job as a student. She asked "What if you're meant to become the best Tour Guide you can be?" I looked at her like she had 3 heads & laughed at the notion. 20 years down a fast track with a Fortune 500 later & so burnt out I'm disabled? I wish I paid attention...Namaste.

Watching this I had an idea that the gray water could be used to flush the toilet if a wet system is used. Just curious if anyone has/is doing this? Thanks for all the info that you provided. It seems that many are waking up to the fact that living as we had for centuries isn't desirable anymore. There's hope for humanity yet!

I want to create my own. .I want twin beds for me and hubby. .we each need our own space. . Or 2 separate bedrooms would be ideal A nice bathroom. .a big enough kitchen with a big deep sink and big enough fridge that will run 2 or 3 different ways. .a sitting area with table to eat on and to watch TV. ..and lounge on couch. .plenty of storage...pantry and closet for clothes and a place for washer and dryer. ..a wood burning stove would also be great. ..I've watched a lot of videos and have seen some pretty remarkable transformations on school buses, cargo trailers and older cheap travel trailers. . But I have also saw some very nice and reasonable priced travel trailers with a nice big master and also a bunk room that could be a second bedroom which would be ideal for us. ..believe me I know people love the smaller the better idea such as van life or very small rv's , but I've been around the block enough to know that it doesn't matter how much you love your partner there will be times of arguments ( then what. .lol ) and I'm a firm believer that everybody needs their own space. ..it doesn't have to be a big space. .but it has to be their own. ..also want to be able to be off grid. .so I don't have to depend on having hook ups and electric. .etc all the time. ..I may want some adventure time. ..
