Have you ever heard of the "Wim Hof Method" in regards to your "cold plunge"? He's proved all of the benefits to cold showers, and a morning "cold blast", and I've always been curious to start that and add it to my morning routine.

My girlfriend "Oh he boujee as fuck"
@ThrashingBuddha4 жыл бұрын
If i may give some points of advice.. 1) perhaps you already know about him, but check out the Wim Hof method and focus your cold baths to that. You can maximise the benefits significantly by following his method. 2) buy honey from a real beekeeper somewhere in your neighbourhood please. The honey you buy, although it says it's organic honey, will still be with added sugars. Sugar pastes or whatever it is, i can't explain it that well in english. When you get the honey from a real beekeeper you are 100% sure of the quality. 3) when you add honey to warm coffee it just becomes sugar. Sacharose to be precise. I advice to wait untill the coffee has cooled down to a temperature of 37 to max 38°C to get the health benefits of honey. Cheers, R.

i must come and give credit to the red headed step coach who put me on to the best self improvement routine ive ever tried which is the cold plunge. yes, tim i appreciate you for that. however that salt water and coffee making ish is just unnecessary but i digress. So im a night owl. mornings for me are my happy times as in like i like to be happily asleep. i work nights and usually sleep until atleast 10am or even 11 occasionally. so waking up and voluntarily freezing my sack off to start my day is not something i will do, which is why it took 2 years to start using this routine. anybody here who are interested in trying it out, I Highly suggest u do. but dont be fooled like i was, it doesnt have to be a morning routine. personally plunging makes more sense to me to do it at night for a plethora of reasons. 1 being the one i just mentioned which is not starting my day frozen lol. but 2. ive now done 88 days in a row of the cold plunge, its helped me to the point where i actually consider it life changing as cold plunging has changed my life is so many ways that its scary.. if your on the fence about doing the cold plunge or merely just curious im going to list the pros & cons of my experience.. telling you, if you havent tried it, your voluntarily drawing the short straw on life...
@lawrencehackett64792 жыл бұрын
So 88 days ago i was depressed.. in 32, and my entire life i had been blessed with amazing genes because i could eat 5,000 calories in a day and wake up the next day and found that i had lost weight from the previous day. not kidding. my body has deified all scientific logic at times, but 8 months ago after losing my long time job for "traveling to a red state from covid" without telling them i was let go. truth is, i had simply traveled through Florida when i went to visit family in south Carolina seeing as i had never actuallu Been to Florida before. but anyways 88 days ago, i found myself depressed and severely out of shape. ive been out of shape before and after 30 push-ups i would look like a greek goddess. literally an 8 pack and all without having to do a situp. well 88 days ago not only was i out of shape i had finally had a beer belly.. from one day of being unemployed and miserable i ran into this video and because i was so down and out i decided that day to start cold plunging.. pros and cons below
@lawrencehackett64792 жыл бұрын
:Pros of plunging: (no particular order) 1. Helps improve mental toughness if you can volunteer yourself to jump in an ice bath for an extended amount of time, even a minute, your going to see other mundane tasks you dont particularly like to do normally as now a piece of cake. 2.) Sleep improvement this isnt in order by significance but this is easily the most important Pro from cold plunging. like ive said i dont do the plunge in the a.m for several reasons, i do my plunge at 10pm every night. 88 days in a row my body is in cold by 10pm. not 10:01 or 9:58. i think its important to not vary on when u plunge to help get your body regulated to the cold, and for me i work during the day and workout mid day and sometimes early evening and i think doing the plunge the next morning is pointless because u then workout go to sleep and the next day u plunge to recover the day before? i think thats kind of silly. i workout, work and when i hit that nightly plunge my body is sore and the plunge literally erases all aches and pains before i actually fall asleep. and the sleep i get after a plunge is beautiful. if anybody here like me gets hot easily in bed, then i suggest plunging on this reason alone because by the time u hit the sheets from plunging your body temp. will be sig. cooler than usual and you will not have issues with being hot while your trying to go to sleep if anything youll want to wrap up under blankets making it much more comfortable and before plunging i had insane insomnia. would never be asleep by midnight but now im usually already mid dream by midnight 3.) improvements w/ my mental health i said for #1 plunging helps your mental toughness. but i needed to make this seperate because to me its 2 seperate benefits. 88 days ago i had been depressed, very anxious and suffered from social anxiety. granted in the past ive always been sociable but after covid lockdowns i almost forgot how to truly interact with others again. plunging has miraculously fought off my depression and anxiety. how? well by improving everything i name here in my pros, its given me the ammo needed to combat my bouts with mental health issues. still get anxiety lol obviously. but the improvements are staggering 4.) sex life something you wont read or hear from folks who do daily cold plunges is improvements in the sack. i dont know why this is. i cant prove this on paper. but can assure you my sex drive is at an all time high since doing it. ive heard plunges do boost mens testosterone and yea im not just saying i bang more. im saying my guy is never at noodle stage. its either soft or 🚀 rocket. no in between. and its been 10x more satisfying in bed then before 88 days ago. its just a fact 5.) energy its quite possibly the easiest pro to think of from doing them. which can be attributed to the improved rem sleep i get from plunging but i feel more energized today than i did when i was 22. 6.) stress i had been very laid back in my past. but past few years ive noticed my anger would get wild sometimes. i can tell u for sure i havent even had an argument since doing the plunges. makes u more eager to settle issues the easy way instead of yelling or fighting 7.) weight loss again, the plunge itself doesnt cut the weight. still have to do the work. but all the improvements in life ive got from doing the plunge has already got my high school body back. ok, now the hard part.. the cons..
@lawrencehackett64792 жыл бұрын
Cons from plunging.. so like every good thing on earth, nothing is perfect. and plunging isnt perfect. sadly there is a down side 1. its cold.. yea. thats it. however as long as u find your happy medium of ice + water + tub size + your pain tolerance, youll find the pain is less every time u do it. focus on your breathing. you wont like the pain for the first 90 seconds but i promise u, your going to laugh at how easy it actually is to get in a cold tub. i do my plunges right in my average sized. bath tub. i do want to buy freezer like tim here soon but my tub is plenty enough to do the job. listen to your body. dont stay in if your shaking from coldness.
@lawrencehackett64792 жыл бұрын
best tips i can give is find the right temperature for u. i started with ridiculously cold plunges but i actually get more benefits from when theres only a little ice. happy medium should be atleast under 38 degrees and higher than 29 degrees. i do 10 minutes every night for 5 minutes a piece. some say to do 15. ive done 20 minutes in practically a tub of ice and got the same results from two 5 minute plunges in water around 34 degrees.
@lawrencehackett64792 жыл бұрын
last thing i want to say is to embrace the pain, because i assure you its worth more than gold if u can manage to do these daily. and lastly thank u tim for this idea, like i said you changed a mans life in boston by making this video, for that, ill call u red hawk and not red headed step coach. appreciate ya

PPV PLUG i just dont think negatively perspective is key. I could be starving and waking up with nothing to work for and living under a bridge with a cardboard box as a home. And thats just a problem in first world countries. I couldnt imagine the places in Africa or Asia hell even places in Mexico with no power, running water, real roads even. So sure it sucks feels like everyday is the same and taxing on the body and forsure the spirit but its not necessarily miserable to me
@ppvplug39404 жыл бұрын
Hunter Deskin I’m glad you’re staying positive. It’s people like you that would always help me get through the day, I didn’t necessarily feel miserable but I felt like I was doing nothing with my life. I had just graduated high school and I worked a warehouse job immediately after for about a year and a half. I just knew I had more potential than being at a warehouse and coming back home at 7pm doing nothing but resting and eating, just to go back and do the same thing the next day. I respect those who go to work regardless of their feelings, because one day I just decided to quit and go to college/train jiu jitsu, I might be making less money now but my body feels healthy and I’m stress free.
@ppvplug39404 жыл бұрын
