@Scoinsoffaterocks It literally means Regional Express so it connects the neighbouring regions quickly to Paris, I guess it is mainly used by commuters but also tourists wanting to go to EuroDisney. It interchanges frequently with metro stations.

What is RER? Commuter Rail or Rapid Transit? If Métro is Rapid Transit and Transilien is commuter rail, than does that make RER a hybrid of the two or a completely new class. An express metro? A local Commuter Rail?

The beginning is Gare d'Austerlitz on RER C, Musee d'Orsay, Invalides going to Champ de Mars.

It is quite common for trains to made up of units, so that if one fails the other pushes or pulls it out of service to the depot.

Basically these trains are not made for people in Wheelchairs. I see steps in the entrance of the train. That's poor. They need to update it. We are in century 21st.
