When I was young, I avoided his works, and went in the direction of more religions. Because, his words never offered solace and comfort. And, now I see, he never taught anything to soften the blow. He went about the business of giving you straight truth, albeit through the mind. A real thinker, was he. A blessing to have such preservation of his works. What I could not comprehend then, I cherish now.

If anyone didn't understand JK is talking about psychological time not the chronological time(clock). He says psychologically there is no time, thought creates future and the past, they don't exist in reality. The reality is only one state that is the present moment and when you realize that every fear, anxiety automatically disappears as they are product of thinking. As easy as this sounds this is not a very easy task, to know it in theory and to live by it is a completely different thing.

Thanks for pointing out the distinction between chronological time and psychological time. It’s also interesting that as soon as we ask the follow up question - how do we practice this, that question itself is based in time, which is the very thing he’s asking us to avoid.

Yes thank you for this video. Relevant Qs - why time has become important psychologically. Can we transform “what is” immediately (never allowing time to interfere)? The answer is in the Q - “psychologically”. If I think of me as body-mind, then I will move in and through time. Thus from “this to that”, move away from this, I have anxiety now, I am born with the sin of my first ancestor, give me time, I will be good, but I have other business of living to do, and now I am anxious I will never be good, struggling….. …..the man who invented non violence is not non violent because he is violent till the time he reaches non violence - in time, tomorrow, which never comes …… Another good one - “………if you don’t think in terms of time then the fact is not………….”. Problem is that JK says think in one sense, listeners think think in another sense. JK himself said in this very video, about mind - “it is like a muscle, if you work on it it will be strong” - this shows that mind too is an object like the body, there is something behind the mind which knows it as “my mind”. Now, the statement “I think, therefore I am” gets replaced by “I am, therefore I think”. JK has the realization and knowledge to say “when there is no time at all”, but listener has no clue how to have no time. JK has gone behind the mind as “I” (as the subject “I”, not as the body-mind JK), and discovered this, but does not say it and asks us to “think about it”, like “it is a wonderful thing psychologically”, all of which compel the listener to stay in the mind. IMHO, I want to be something else materially in a process of survival and evolution at the level of my body-mind. At the fundamental level there is no need to be something else because there is nothing to improve in an already perfect Subject I. In that dimension, it is not even possible to be something else when all that can be imagined are also mere expressions of the perfect. All it takes is an understanding that in my “I”-ness I am perfect, and I just need to tailor my body-mind to fit the perfection that I am. There is nothing to create, nowhere to go. A sculptor creates nothing, he just chisels away at a block of stone that does not look like his idol / ideal, and when he is done, the ideal is there in front of him. His ideal was always there in the stone, all he did was chisel away. If I “try” to “not think in terms of time”, I will be flexing my mind, and time will be an inescapable factor. Hollywood got it right that time when Morpheus tells Neo in the film Matrix - “don’t try to hit me and hit me”. Don’t try, just do. How ? Maybe the trick is to know my own perfection as the subject I, then I don’t have to move in time, anxiety is gone. Now all that is to be done is to tailor my body-mind to fit my perfection, and in the absence of anxiety, not only I have all the time in the world to do this, time is not an issue even. When I go beyond body-mind and stay with my “I”-ness, then time and space moves in front of me as a passing show. Time and space does not control me and I have no desire to control time and space. Punch line was good - “when there is an ending, there is beginning.

All that exists is the eternal now ..it has all that has ever existed and all that will ever exist... Past is a function of memory ...take away memory ..and there can be no past ... similarly the future is function of imagination .. The 'now' is a singularity that serves as a sink for the past and a source for the future.

Except that we exist in both Time and the Trance State. One can live as a Realized Existence and make a difference or be swept up in the stream of Time (movement from 'a' to 'b' ) and know nothing of what's occurring - not even that we're on a planet (most people have no Realization of that).

The way of redemption is not easily found…..no one knows themselves…. But if we note the consequences of our actions….we can determine whether we are on the right way or not…it is a unique opportunity, this life,to become enlightened and thus free ourselves from the world of opposites….on this plane we can learn to do that.

time and death - would it be pertinent to ask, "has mind evolved in the true sense of that word" ? I ask this because I feel that I am as much in the stranglehold of " shad ripus" as my prehistoric ancestors were !!! yes, over a period of time , I have used superior intelligence and phenomenal creative potential so (stupidly),that our planet is almost on the brink of annihilation !!! The fact however remains that I am as ignorant of time and death,as all those generations before me.My preoccupation with " time" has prevented enquiry into the possibility,if at all , of "no time".My obsession with gross body apparatus( I AM),has become an impediment in finding out who or what dies !!!! mind can be called as truly evolved only when it finds out, through enquiry, the answer to that all- important, and ultimate question," who am I"? until then,my definition of time and death will be confined to the action of emptying of content of consciousness.

One sage said my lesson is very simple…but no one can do it !!!! …..and this obvious truth can be told but will rarely be accepted….you can control the main organic processes of the body….what a trip that is….finding the central path or middle way is not easy….we have indeed brought ourselves and our world to a dangerously out of balance condition….I enjoyed your comment on what I call the whole ego trip …but I take an optimistic view in that when things go to an extreme the opposite sets in.
