Time Crisis 4 PS3 2 player

I used to love playing this at the Arcades many years ago. And now I've had for a few years at home with the guncon & sensors. But I'm hoping someone can help me. I continue to get Stage 2-Area 3, completed all missions, & the game won't let me advance to Stage 3? I defeat the Stage 2 boss & instead of bringing me to Stage 3 it brings me to a save name screen. Afterwards, it says game over? Am I doing something wrong? Any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Like I said I keep getting all bad guys & completing all missions. And after defeating Boss 2, I get sent to a save name screen before it says Game over? I'd be extremely grateful for any help or advice.

I have only tried the arcade version included with Razing Storm, but it sounds like you have the standalone version of the game. gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/938758-time-crisis-4/40436294 When you say you played all the missions, you mean you have played through the Crisis Mission mode? Unfortunately, I really don't know much about your version of the game.

@@arronmunroe Glad you asked. It's odd cuz I completed missions with a friend on 2 player. But never get ahead. However, It one time brought me to Stage 2 playing 1 player mode. I'm wondering if it has something to do with not dying at any time or something. Cuz I've seen other KZbin vids of other players completely beating Stage 2 & moving forward without getting a save name screen menu or a game over message.

I personally don't think there would be such a strict requirement. Again, I only tried the arcade version of the game, but there definitely was no requirement like that.

You sure you haven't played One Stage Trial? If you play one stage trial, game doesn't progress forward from that chosen stage. You have to play the arcade mode from the very start to reach the end.

It's amazing how the game developers made this. If you freeze at 3:07 and look at each others screens, you can see the other player on your screen, but not your own character. Also, the camera doesn't seem to be exactly where your own player is at times.

I've always wondered how they did this with Time Crisis games. The players seem to have their own versions how their characters see each other move, but they still share the same game in co-op.

Already played 2. 5 isn't an option for now, because it's not playable on PC. I think 3 is just a little too laggy on the emulator.

@@arronmunroe - I know NTSC-U for _Time Crisis 3_ is a bit of a mess on PCSX2. Have you tried using the PAL image instead? That seems to be a bit more stable, plus the FMVs in-game aren't desynced on Preset-Balanced mode. If you're going to do it with mice or light guns, you may need to experiment with the values on PCSX2's nuvee plugin. The cursor doesn't line up with the pointer well when you leave the calibration circle with the NTSC settings.

I was able to play the NTSC one, although I ended up recording the FMVs separate with a higher EE cycle rate. The calibration wasn't a problem since it was 2p, and I had to come up with a way to make the in game cursors for both players display while using a mouse.

You mean both players on a single screen? Time Crisis 2 lets you use two guns on a single screen, but I don't think this game has a feature like that.

Just like the other times, you lose one life. Under most circumstances if the timer reaches zero, you lose a life, even if it’s the final battle

TC4 & TC5 really lacks the teamwork vibes. We rarely see each other characters when in ACTION/WAIT, even the animation for both POV is not really that snchronized, especially TC5. Damn TC2 is really the best at this, TC3 is also not bad tho.

Yes. I would imagine that 60fps in 2p is doable with RPCS3, but I don't think you could use 2 PlayStation Move controllers on that emulator currently.

@@alienzetton - Check if any of the in-game settings allow you to show the crosshairs on screen. If that's not available for the GunCon 3, you may just have to calibrate and look down the iron sights of the light gun to aim.

Time Crisis 4 has one of the weaker, if not the weakest story, out of the series in my opinion. It just never made sense how the villains are or became evil. Certainly Wild Dog makes sense as he's the eternal enemy of VSSE, but it makes no sense why US Forces would fight each other unless they weren't US Forces to begin with. Thankfully the gameplay makes up for it including some pretty badass moments during the boss fights (mainly Rush vs. the 2nd boss).
