House Party At Boothy's was my theme at one point, really loved this record. I love the concept of this series, noughties england had such so many great and overlooked bands. One of the last great R&R scenes really. Far far more superior than the American Emo/Pop Punk counterpart of the decade. I got a bit of a request. Could you do a review of Hoggboy's "Or 8"? Another great Sheffield band who were virtually (and still are) unknown, even to hardened UK Indie landfill fans. Very Garage Punk, and one that actually predated the Libertines' debut (and image!). Subscribed.

Must admit I've never heard of Hoggboys, will have to check them out! Thanks for watching mate, more indie videos coming soon (well not 'soon', but at some point)

Great review, love this album! Is the hidden track landfill or landbrill though?

The year is 2006. The streets echo with the sound of Arctic Monkeys. In Sheffield, the ground at first rumbles gently, then violently shakes. Hordes of guitar bands rise out of the earth, and disperse menacingly in all directions, towards the 300-capacity venues of every town in the country. This cataclysm, spoken of in legend as 'The Great Jangling' lays waste to the young male populace, but as quickly as it emerged, it disappears. 18 years hence it is considered by some to be only a myth; a tale to frighten children. However, in the archaeological record, the strata bears unmistakable evidence of this historic moment: the fossilized remnants of Fender Telecasters, Lyle & Scott sweaters, fragments of glass bottles bearing the etching "Magners". A stone wall, buried deep in the ruins of the Leadmill is scrawled with glyphs, perhaps preserving monikers of esteemed figures from the age: "MAZ", "JON" and "Q".

finally heard fair criticism about the band. this album was kicked hard at the time. it was especially unpleasant to hear Jarvis Cocker's verdict on them - "an absolute pile of shit". though then he pissed himself and ran away when he met them on the street) I think that the singles were very charming and have not lost the charm over time. certainly better than what the enemy or pigeon detectives released at that time. thanks Rory. keep up the good work, mate

Thought it was great when I first heard it, still really enjoy it now. Obviously I don't understand music on the same level as Jarvis Cocker but personally think it's fun, nostalgic and clear of 90% of those northern, Artic Monkeys-lite, lad bands that were around in the 00's. Thanks for watching mate, appreciate the continued support
