This is the Midnight Special, where all the great musicians and bands are heard. This is what great music 🎶 🎵 sounds like. This what our generation got to hear and appreciate. This is the best of times. Rock and Roll was the best music 🎶 🎵 of all. REO,Speedwagon was one of them bands.

At the 1:50 mark, funny that the two male backup singers walk onto stage. Lead singer Kevin Cronin sings with such enunciation on his words. Nobody else does it like he does. A speech teacher's dream come true.

The Midnight Special years of being on air were the best years of my life. 1972-1981 I was 9-18 years old. All of the bands that I loved, I got to see on TMS because I was a poor kid living in a small town in Texas with my grandmother and didn't have the ability or money to go see any concerts. But seeing those bands on the Midnight Special made me love music and the bands even more. Thank you for bringing those memories back!

So good! One of my favorite Speedwagon songs! They did an excellent job here. When they hit the chorus witht the backup singers, the crowd went wild! Memories of leaving home at that time kind of fit with the title, anyway, but we can all relate to relationships ending. Weirdly, it’s got an uplifting vibe. Thanks, TMS!✌️💜

1980. High Infidelity was the album. It seems every song on that album was on the charts. They definitely were being played on A.M. radio 📻 and on my cassette player and turn table. 1980. Yeah, I was just there.

I love this channel because so many of these songs were my background music growing up. Seeing these bands absolutely crush live is inspiring. Lots of great performances, but this and Heart's Crazy On You" are phenomenal!

Think I saw them play @ a live rock n’ roll club in Tulsa before they made it big, bands would travel through town getting their feet wet. Have their album “You Can Tune a Piano, but you Can’t Tuna Fish”. Their band name, a real Truck, was a light motor truck model manufactured by REO Motor Car Company, it’s pretty cool looking. Bass player (I think) looks like John Schlitt of Head East. What a SAD/HAPPY song, Depending on the circumstance . . .

Another appearance of REO Speedwagon on the Midnight Special was definitely lip-synced. I think the background vocals in this performance sound too dubbed over for just two background vocalists singing them.
