The art is uniquely beautiful. Truly. The music is going to make my head explode.

Wow. I'm usually watercoloring, but looked for landscape inking and I was in middle of panic attack, not only I'm in love, the tiny details and music calmed me down and brought me back. So...overall, I'm trying to say- thank you.

I truly appreciate your comment, it's motivating. I will create another large ink landscape like this in about a month.

You said in the description that you just started drawing with pen and ink and I genuinly thought you were doing this for years... You can be really proud of this drawing, even if you made a few mistakes: I didn't notice. It looks great ^^

Thank you Marie! I have been drawing with a regular ink pen for years, but I hadn't drawn with the dip pen and nib. It's really challenging to me.

I have a real appreciation for those who are gifted with the ability to bring a blank slate to life. This video was brought to my attention by CyberSDFs tweet. I also use his music in my videos. Nice job and thank you for the demonstration. Is this your first upload to KZbin or do you have other channels?

Np! And later on I found variety packs on Etsy. So you can sample different ones and not have 10 of the same. A few good ones in this sampler I bought. I'm not affiliated with them, I just really liked sampling these: Etsy > Olievpens > Nib Sampler www.etsy.com/listing/557915620/nib-sampler?ga_search_query=Nib%2BSampler&ref=shop_items_search_1&crt=1

You should stop drawing at 2:00 Lines were light, nice, image breathing. Then came crosshatching and all became too dark and heavy.

There was definitely some improv after I made a mistake and things took a different turn than originally intended, but I wanted to share the video anyway. Although, I'm quite heavy handed with drawing in general, when I try to go light it seems that I lean toward darker drawings but I am a fan of heavy handed dark ink drawings so that may be why I do this. To each their own, I guess. This was only a drawing for fun and practice.

Time lapse teaches nothing
@SketchyMel7 жыл бұрын
Interesting perspective. I find that I learn from watching other artist's time-lapse videos. I watch them for reference, as an overview of what is possible with a certain medium. And to see if the artist started to draw outlines first, then fill in, or concentrated on some areas first, then moved outward toward the rest of the page or canvas. I usually want to see if they created an underdrawing or if they just wing it. I gather some information by watching it then I research more on the subject.

@@SketchyMel Interesting reply because I wanted to know if you did an under sketch (I didn't notice one) as well. Did you? Thanks

If you have some basics and know what to look for, you can learn a lot from it. I learned a lot from this, anyway--composition, mark making, establishing a value range, layering. And if it's too fast for you, KZbin has the option of playing videos at slower speeds. I have limited time to devote to art study, so I appreciate the efficiency of a good time lapse video. ;-) I didn't see where she said she was teaching here. I can't speak for her, but it seems to me she's sharing her process for people to take from it what they will.

@@larryglatt2548 I'm late in replying because I didn't see this message, but there is an under drawing on most of the ink drawings I do, I think the lighting here didn't catch it well, but I did have a very light one you can see it a little in 01:25 . Sometimes I draw without and under drawing, if usually if it's small.
