Thanks for the memories of the airport. I remember the airport. I had a friend who worked as an air traffic controller and whenever I went to the airport, I would go up the stairs to the tower and chat with him. When we went to see someone off, we would sit right there in the little waiting room on the ground floor and go right in front of the building to wave goodbye. I never forgot my mother walking up the stairs to board the Pan American plane to leave for NY. She had on gloves and a bouquet of anthurium lillies in her hand (carrying flowers wouldn't happen today). Unfortunately, we did not have cameras like we have today, so it is now only a memory I still have a picture of my brother sitting in the waiting room before heading to London..

my grandparents are from Trinidad but moved to Canada in the 1960's. Its really amazing to see the Trinidad that they would have grown up in!

YES YES YES that snippet from 2:01 to 2:02 is actually Chaguanas!!!! There was once a roundabout there ( I was told by a grey-haired taxi-driver). That's why the car appears to be going around it to continue due south. Wow. I knew that 50's deco building all my life. Thanks for posting this Sooty1312!!!!

Oh I just remembered. There is that brief glimpse of a sign "Montrose".I remember in the 50's travelling to Port of Spain from San Fernando-those days this was like going to london. There was a roundabout there and Seereram Bros was located on the left side of this going north.

I hadn't expected the highway honouring the memory of Princess Margaret to be so straight; I'd have thought that it would be more of a reeling road, a rolling road, that rambles round the shire.
