Thanks Becky. My hands aren't too straight or sensitive anymore so I use a cutting die. Only 3 or 4 sizes but the only work is ironing the fusible web to the fabric. These are labor intensive aren't they? But, I think it's a good task while listening on the phone or during a radio, tv, or podcast program. If you only have one set for one size, and you are making 50 of each size, you couldn't save time waiting for the drying time. It is nice to have choices. We should put this problem to an engineer who sews/quilts and see what she/he invents. I'm betting there is an even more efficient way to make these (other than die cut wh isn't needle turned). Always room for improvement. If anyone out there is a sewing engineer, or you know someone who is, we'd all be grateful for your input or invention.💖🙋

Pretty much all of the prepared circle techniques require labor and I mostly use them for machine applique. When I'm hand appliquéing, I treat circles like any other applique shape. Trace, cut out, finger press, pin to the block, and needle turn the seam allowance under as a sew. If you pay attention, the finished circles can be just as nice :-).

Oh my goodness all of the time it took to needle turn each one of those circles is mine boggling I’m not sure I could sit that long to do it but I sure appreciate looking at it

Like any applique, it's one stitch at a time. I enjoy the process of sewing and accept the time it takes to make whatever it is I am working on. But that's me 😁. I'll get in a rush for other, non-sewing things.

Thank you so much! I have bought several of your books and patterns and my hand applique is awful. I will try again!

Remember that the main goal is that what you sew together, stays together. The more you work on your applique skills, the better they will be but don't be too hard on yourself during the process.

Hi Becky. I really enjoyed the video I am currently using the perfect circle templates and I really like them. One of the reasons is that I don't know where I'm going to put my circles yet so I'm making quite a few circles and then I'll be able to decide at a later time where they will go.

I’ve used both and I don’t love the Applipops. They are expensive, you can’t multi task by making multiples and they get really hot and finally, I feel that the circles are thcker and don’t lay as flat. I love the KKB templates.

If I had to pick just one set, I'd go with the KKB as well.

@@BeckyGoldsmith but I’m with you that I can needle turn way faster then the time it takes to prep using either method.

Thank you for taking the time to demonstrate the options. It gives us something to think about before we dive into our projects and wish we had known about alternatives. Your experience is invaluable. Thanks you so much for sharing.
