Yeah my black walnut and red cedar slabs i bought fresh sawn finally dried. Took to friend with larger saw and then spent days sanding everything with different grits with my orbital. Now i have stacks of prepped wood to use over Wisconsin winter season.

It's a lot of work, but totally worth it when you have a nice stack of wood to last you a while.

I'm glad we're in agreeance that cut & sand day is BORING! 😂I get so excited when buying new wood cuts, but I abosolutely hate knowing i have to prep it first hahah!

A like to use a speed square for drawing the lines and it also guides my saw like yours as you can just clamp it. $9 at Home Depot I think.

Oh you know, I think I have one, I just forget to use it. L hahaha! I have habits and it just slips my mind to go an easier route sometimes. But thanks for the reminder. I'll have to make sure to find it and put it on my table so I don't forget next time.
