[Tidbits & Clarifications] - Agreed, in fact it's more accurate to say that as an Orgination, the Gotei never existed to do "what's right". Their job is to maintain the balance of souls, and those in charge don't seem to care how that objective is achieved. Doesn't mean some people don't have good intentions or hearts but that the system the work under by Nature is questionable. - The Vizards are a mixed bag in regards to strength. Generally speaking around half of them were lieutenants and they arent particularly gifted in regards to hollowfication, as you noted, they are "failed experiments". Most Vizards still pale in comparison to some of the older or more gifted Captains of the Current Gotei, and none compare to Head Captain. - Hachigan doesn't have the same powers as orihime, their barrier-making abilities are similar but Orihime can reject phenomena within a space. Hachigan cannot do that.

I believe it's not really about captains. Its shinigami in general. As far as i know, these guys give a vow when they apply for the shinigami. A vow to purify all hollows. And any hollow is their grave enemy. And you can understand to what extend this hate can brew for their long lifetimes.

Not all... Shunsui definitely cared for them, especially Lisa. When shinji asked the vizords if they wanna say "hi" to the captains, everyone said no except Lisa, because she knows Shunsui cares. Also its an undeniable fact that Shunsui felt very guilty after lisa went missing becuz he sent her on that mission. That's exactly why he shielded and overprotected Nanao and never sent her on any fights in the manga.

Captains abandoning vizards and then abandoning rukia while she was sentenced. These things were really showing how shallow these captains really are and they never even apologized for all that. They also played right into aizens hands like wtf.

Nobody abandoned the vizards. Central 46 were going to execute them for being hollowfied and then they disappeared. I doubt any of the captains had any idea where they went. Most of the current captains don’t even know the vizards even existed until they just showed up.
