Lloyd Nolan was great in everything he did. Remember him as Sgt McShane in "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn"? Just dawned on me about the last names being so similar. Shane and McShane! 😂 These films are a treasure, just like the Brasher Doubloon.......😂

Brasher doubloon, Mrs Murdock, Linda Conquest.... This is Raymond Chandler, and Michael Shayne is aka Philip Marlowe. Classy stuff.

Right you are - with Chandler's. title being "The High Window", although the Humphrey Bogart movie went by the title of "The Brasher Dubloon".

Bogart only portrays Marlowe in The big Sleep. The Brasher Doubloons got another actor whose name i dont remember. Kind of a shame. Hawks and Bogart were never surpassed in any Chandlers adaptation
