Let me tell you something - i was like this for over 1 year - trying to be the best version of myself 24/7 - i was addicted - never good enough - no alcohol, no party, no eating sugar, no smoking, only water etc. - i look great (lean and still muscular) and get compliments - my whole life was about this lifestyle - i am really proud of that no doubt - but man, it was stress, it really was, working out, going to work etc. - as i said, never good enough, always room to be better, physically and mentally - I was on the verge of burnout - sad, depressed, no fun, felt down etc. - now i changed my sight of life - "Work hard, play hard." - now i live like this quote, i still try to be the best version of myself, but i will not kill all the joy, i will go out, go to parties, sometimes drink alcohol, eat sweets etc. - Don’t take life too serious, Don’t take yourself too serious - Like the quote - work hard but still enjoy life to the fullest. Discipline is great - addiction isn't. Take it easy - enjoy your life.

I agree with you in a sense, but really it depends on where you are in life. So my advice is for the person reading this, if you are in a situation that needs dire change, you must decide to go all in. Mental health is perhaps your most important asset, but if reaching your potential requires 6 or 12 or 18 months of locking in and being (temporarily) miserable as a consequence, then by all means, go for it. Your future self will thank you. I love your last quote "discipline is great, addiction isn't" and it applies perfectly here, you will never be satisfied because you will just keep raising the bar for yourself. So, if you do decide to devote yourself to being the best version of yourself. Write down some goals and don't stop until you've made it. When you make it, the fun will be waiting for you, and you'll know that you've earned it.

Don’t think about it too deeply, the goal should be building the habit of showing up… keep the session simple.

Discipline > Motivation always - you HAVE to go, it's not a WANT it is a NEED.
