There are different ways to play but here is the standard basic way. You have to match the color or the number. If you don't have a card you can play, you have to pick up 1 card from the deck. If that one card, that you pick up is playable, you can play that card to keep the amount of cards, in your hand, down. The reverse cards change the direction of the playing order, the skip cards skip the next player, draw 2 cards make the next player pick up 2 cards from the deck, the standard wild card let's you play on any card and you can change the color, the draw 4 is also a wild card but makes the next player pickup 4 cards from the deck. If a person plays a draw 4 wild card on a card but they had a card they could have played, if the next person challenges it, the player who put down the draw 4 wild card has to draw 6. If they didn't have a card to play, the person who challenged it has to draw 6...also if a person plays a draw 2 card the next player can also play a draw 2 and the number of draws just adds with each person that stacks a draw to until a person can't play a draw 2 and they have to draw the total amount of draws that got stacked.
