I loved your reactions. I can understand your reaction. My Dad was stationed in Italy during WW2. He talked alot about the Italian people and their love for opera. This also hits me hard and agree that I wish Dan had done it alone. His other songs that he has sung Italian, hit me just as hard. Hugs for comfort on losing your Dad. Mine passed in 1996. Miss him terribly .

I think this is a beautiful duet, but also agree that I would love to hear a solo performance by Dan. I think it may be true that he "holds back" some to compliment his partner. Not that I'm expecting Dan to make a metal version of this song, ... but I'd be RIGHT THERE if he did, lol!😂😊

Dan Vasc Tuesday? This week is just flying by. I thought for sure this was Monday. Haha! Loved your reaction and I agree that I would love to hear a version with just Dan singing this. Yes, and I can hardly wait! I have a feeling there will be a couple of basically opposing reactions, which could be a little interesting. On the other hand, most of us really don't care WHAT Dan sings, as long as he DOES sing. The song itself really speaks to me, though...probably a little differently than it does to others.

I think they went after the duet cover rather than Bocelli’s solitaire version because the duet got more coverage. Plus Bocelli also sang with Celine Dion.

New to your show. Subscribed. Totally agree. I was disappointed when I heard this song. Only because the female takes away from the song. Try PHANTOM OF THE OPERA! (Night wish) The female has a beautiful voice and they work together. If there's a duo to watch try this

I agree with you! Where Dan Vasc's voice is easily equitable to Bocelli, hers is not close to Brightman.....and it was distracting rather than complementary. I hope he will do a solo version some day

While Ren does have a beautiful clear voice and sings this quite perfectly, and their duet is incredible together, i do agree, it would have been SO special to hear Dan sing this song by himself. I've seen and heard Bocelli perform this song live, and he is an amazing singer, but i can also say one other thing - Dan can match Bocelli any time, in any song. The way he lifts those notes - it feels like he pulls them from the depth of his being, and at the same time, he makes it look and sound like the easiest thing in the world. He's just such a beautiful singer to watch, the way he uses and masters his instrument, and the way he pours his soul so generously into every song. Other duets i think you might like even more, would be his rendition with Violet Orlandi of the Guns and Roses 'Patience', and his duet with Alina Lesnik in the Phantom og the Opera lovesong 'All i ask of you'.

Also, I forgot to add that two doctors told me that I can't roll my rrrrs due to the piece of tissue under the tongue is attached too tightly. They called it being "tongue tied" and can be surgically cut a bit. It would be kinda nice to be able to do the rrrs, but I only speak English so I really don't need to worry about it. You mentioned that you can't do that either.

I feel about most female voices the same way - I don't really like the high pitch qualities. Dan has an absolutely beautiful voice and very few female voices go with his. Violet Orlandi blends beautifully.

I agree that Violet really blends particularly well with Dan. In places, during "Kiss from a Rose," it's a little hard to hear them separately, because they blend so well.
